Honest, do you guys like the idea of a bipedal or a quadrupled Sprigatito better? I'm indifferent, but i feel like they could do a lot more with a bipedal design than a quad. I won't lie that i was also in the "Don't stand up, Sprigatito!" meme train for funsies when it's still a thing but i feel like we had to let it go now, i'm happy with what we got out of our grown up weed cat.

After reading into stats and Zard’s movepool further, Daschbun would be a support role…if it even has the capabilities to do so. The dog doesn’t have the stats to attack and mightn’t take a Solar Beam too well
Hands and Azu still seem to be the best, but I’ve heard of people training Sylveon too

I’ll update you all asap when I’ve seen a solid strat

A couple things I neglected with my calculations for Charizard ahead of tomorrow:
Multiple builds (akin to Mewtwo, Zeraora, Urshifu and Calyrex’s steeds from Sword and Shield when they were in Max Raid Battles)
The fact that this’ll prob have the same Defence and Special Defence EVs as 6* raids, and might not be competitively trained

One final revision of my thing:
Charizard will be level 100 (most likely), will have a possible HA and will pack:
Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Air Slash, Dragon Pulse, Tera Blast, Solar Beam, Iron Tail, Will-o-Wisp, Sunny Day and Dragon Dance (projected to have a mix of these moves, or maybe all 10)
Counters could include:
Belly Drum Azumarill, Belly Drum Ice Punch Hands, Dual Screens Grimmsnarl, Supportive Daschbun or Pixilate Sylveon

I’ll give a proper list tomorrow, because I’ve been enlightened to the possibility of multiple Charizard builds

Keep in mind the boss is projected to have about 8k HP (30x the health at that level) and has 128 Def/Sp.Def EVs

You can't even run Choice Band/Scarf with it without having the same effect as being Encored into the move

If the hammer pattern got too predictable then you'll get Protected on every other turn the hammer was used

Iron Hands is a good generalist raid mon, but struggles against fairy/ghost

the set is bellydrum/drain punch/thunderpunch/4th move

Azumarill is also good, but has to rely on shell bell for healing as it has no healing moves of it's own. also note play rough is bugged in raids so the damage you are doing doesn't actually reflect visually (which can be quite annoying)

Belly Drum/Play Rough/liquidation/4th move

I haven't used Gholdengo myself but i hear it's really good against mons that LOVE to spam status moves, as it's immune to all of em.

I'd assume it's set would be Flash Cannon/Thunderbolt/shadowball/dazzlign gleam, but IDK i haven't touched Gholdengo

for support mons, mainly anything that sets up screens is great, along with those that get helping hand or healpulse/life dew

If you have a group of 4 players that can communicate, 4 Persserker with it's hidden ability is very funny.

on the first turn the host uses swords dance and the 3 other players use Screech.

then on turn 2, the 3 players use helping hand on the host and the host uses iron head

1 shots most things

I run Gholdengo with Metal Sound, Nasty Plot, Make it Rain and Shadow Ball. Make it rain is a 160 Base stat move with STAB. It lowers your Sp. Attack by one stage but you usually go: 2-3 Nasty Plots, 2-3 Metal Sounds into either Shadow Ball or Make it Rain to OHKO the enemy

Tinkaton is still strong in my opinion unless you're going for absolutely min-max'd professional teams. Tinkaton can tank a ton of special damage and has decent enough attack to pretty much one shot most things. It's not the best Raid 'mon but still strong for the base game.

Grassy terrain induced Terrain Pulse or Energy Ball on Arboliva?

I don’t know how much better terrain pulse becomes when under terrain influence

Currently my Arboliva’s moveset is energy ball, reflect, Giga drain and pollen puff

What I hate about raids:
Why will it randomly tell you what is happening to another player, like while I’m waiting for the game to ‘buffer’ it will show me another Pokémon being attacked which just eats up my time
And when someone does a big move that almost OHKOs it but then it puts up its shield, it throws a million effects that kills your turns of setting up, like id spend at least 3 turns setting with light screen and sword dance, nuke next to me almost kills the raid mon but uh oh now its shield is up, it nullified its own stat changes and my stat changes and now it’s attacking twice in a turn

Well I actually don't remember if Red/Blue or Yellow had the option for Set mode

as a 100% of the time set mode player. I can obviously just press B whenever I knock out a Pokemon but it changes the "flow" of the battle by making it feel like an arbitrary restriction on what the game WANTS me to do.

This is about as frustrating as forced XP share.

From my perspective it isn't the experience share that is the problem, it's the lack of option. It is a forced quality of life change. QOL is important in a video game like Pokémon where hours of time could potentially be chewed up while slaughtering herds of Zigzagoon or Audino. The XP share is very good. The lack of option is bad.

Taking away player agency in almost every scenario is the wrong choice.

There was nothing broken about XY's experience share. You can turn it off at any point, and when it is on it helps cut down XP farm immensely.

As soon as you remove the option it became a real problem from my perspective. Not because the XP share is bad, but because I couldn't choose that it is OR isn't... and I don't like it that each new generation seems to be removing player agency. That sucks

What's next? Forced Fast Text speed?

Removal of options is not the right choice when considering quality of life. It implies that you want the player to play the game YOUR way and not THEIR way.

I don’t think there are mods out publicly for Yuzu yet, but at 60fps stable the game looks entirely different

If the game had just another year in the oven I think it could’ve been BotW level optimized and only chunked in certain areas. Truly sad, but once the mods come out I think I’ll tap into the emulation

I have not, but doubling FPS in Switch emulators right now is stupidly CPU demanding.

Certain games are easier than others but a rule of thumb is you're probably looking at Ryzen 5000 or Intel 12th gen to even semi reliably be able to do it on most games

I have briefly played Sc/Vio on my PC from ripping it from my hacked unit, and it runs well at 30fps on my rig / 4K.

Thoughts on Sc/Vio now that I've beaten it:

Sc/Vio takes the open-world idea that fans have wanted for a while now and adapts it decently well to the existing Pokémon formula, along with including some touching story beats that culminate rather well at the ||endgame section||. I would even go as far to say there is more content than any other main series Pokémon game in the last decade, due to the sheer size of the world. It has pretty good music, and I enjoyed the new Pokémon designs for this new gen. It is, however, lacking a lot of polish and it is obvious a lot of corners were cut, even versus other recent Pokémon games - especially with the frame drops. Character customization is also pretty lacking this gen; with no way to change your base outfit beyond accessories and 4 "preset" uniforms. Some may find it hard to relate to the protag as well as they are the youngest design for any gen in the last decade IMO. Many of these smaller things added up and reduced my enjoyment of the game pretty significantly, but I did still come out of it having fun.

Would I recommend Scarlet/Violet? I think if you're a long time fan and have consistently enjoyed the games even from the past decade, you'll be able to have a decently good time with Scarlet and Violet if you can stomach the fps issues. If you're kind of on the fence with the series though I don't think I can recommend it until they fix the game's performance.

Mixed overall, though still fun for series vets & has elements that are the best of any game in the series when they shine through.
