Hey there Crewmates! I have good news!
Andi and I tested the proximity mod, and it worked well! It was fun and we fooled around, and adjusted some rules.
The good news are, mobile and console players can join. 🎉
That's the short version. There will be a guide ready (super easy) for all connection methods.
I tested it both on Browser and the Android App (BetterCrewLink) and it needs zero setting up if you use this version.
You can also use the phone for the mod (the voice chat, so to say), but play on PC! I will assume that you can do the same for Switch (connect phone to voice, join on Switch).
One thing though:
If you want to play with Proximity Mod, please do so with headphones. If we hear your in-game sound or similar, it will give away your role pretty much instantly.

Play on PC if you can. Best experience, easiest setup, most compatible.
If you don't have a PC, but a Android Smartphone: Download the game (Among Us) on Mobile, download the Voice App (BetterCrewlink) on Mobile, play it there.
If you play on Switch there are 2 ways:
Android Smartphone: Download the App as mentioned above. Done.
iOS Smartphone / PC: You need to use a webclient over a browser. For iOS: use the Safari Browser. Make sure that it has microphone-permission. For PC, best to use Chrome and accept the Microphone prompt that comes.
Headphones are a must have. Not only because we might hear ingame sounds, but especially because it can cause echoes - which will be a absolute pain for everyone involved.

How To Install Proximity:
Windows:
- Download https://github.com/OhMyGuus/BetterCrewLink/releases/download/v3.1.1/Better-CrewLink-Setup-3.1.1.exe
- Install it (You might get Antivirus warnings, but its confirmed safe). If Windows complains with Antivirus, click on extended > install
- After installation is done, search for BetterCrewLink in Windows and run it
- Start the game, done.

- Install the app (BetterCrewlink) on your phone
- Start the app
- Start among us and join a lobby with at least one BetterCrewlink PC user
- Ask one of the PC users to enable "Mobile host" in the settings
- Go back to the app and fill the Lobby code, voice server, and your Crewlink name (use a unique name)
- Click connect and wait until it goes to the connected players page
- Go back to among us and play!
