#Build a train work shop.

Yes, this
I second
this could actually pose an interesting way to implement modded locomotives into the game as well!
And also how to build player owned wagons/locomotives
Go to the workshop - workshop needs resources - you get the resources - choose which thing you want to build - workshop uses the resources you sent it - repeat
It's also a place where you can fix all engines and rolling stock if damaged
You can also do building contacts
However, if you build an engine or rolling stock you'll need to pay the insurance for it
that sounds, actually really good, even you could have spare parts and models from locomotives around the world to build your own locomotive (kinda like lego) like different front ends, different engines, various wheel arrangements...
that sound like a lot of content to add to one mod 😂
I feel like the more likely option is that the base workshop is added, then others make the mods for their loco parts
We don't even have a clue how to change the map yet, but it would be cool D:
what if you don't necessarily have to change the map? the tutorial shed is basically abandoned after the first part of the game, why not utilise that until such point we can alter the map?
oh yeah that's smart
work smart, not hard 😉
If devs could implement several base engines so GM(already got), CAT, Alco, EE etc etc then you just choose power unit, then wheel config, gearbox type, braking type (if separate vac and air is a thing by then) and then some template body designs, that would be sick
Making equipment maintenance into a kind of mini game akin to train mechanic simulator that lets you disassemble the loco for repairs/upgrades could be part of this as well.
It would also give people more goals in the game other then grind out all the licenses,
(It would also lighten the load on the devs as the modders could do all the development on goofy trains that the community is interested in)
