i really like this! is there a way to increase the amount of a certain type of monster in an intative group?

as it stands if i wanna add multiples of the same stat block theres only two "slots" in an IG for them

also is there a way to implement retainers? retainers increase ES but not malice gain

For minions, it is possible to add more minions per slot. There is x4 and x8 options. (I dont think you should have 16 minions in one group) the x8 is for when I want a squad of 8 minions with a captain.

For horde monsters, two same level horde monsters equals the EV of 1 hero. I imagined a directer using many non minions monsters would use more initiative groups, rather than initiative groups with many monsters. While you could have 3 or even 4 horde monsters in one group, the Director turn would start to get over-long.

For Platoon and Elite type monsters, they have more EV (platoon monsters have EV equal to the ES of Heroes of the same level). So more than 2 per group is overkill.

Thats something I have on my list to implement. I need to read and think more before I have a good answer.

For now i would say, since they dont increase malice generation, that you would

  1. build the encounter without calculating the retainer. This would give you the base line malice generation and difficulty.

  2. then, add additional monsters whit EV comperable to another hero.
