#Discussion on running Draw Steel using a published adventure from a Sci-Fi RPG

Greetings! I'm knocking around the idea of taking an already published adventure, especially a short 1-3 session module, that is from a Science Fiction RPG, and seeing how easy it would be to adapt it for Draw Steel. We got these Memonek and these Time Raiders, I'd like to see a Science Fiction adventure in space using these rules.

So if you have any adventure modules in mind, no matter how incongruent they may seem, please post! For example, I'm sure most Star Finder mods would convert thematically, but what about an Alien RPG mod like Chariots of the Gods? Your thoughts and ideas are welcome.

For instance, what steps would you take to rebuild the encounters to fit the Monsters of Draw Steel? How would you translate the ancestries? Too on the nose for High Elves to be translated into Vulcans?

So if you're interested in this topic and want to spitball, please do!

Spelljammer Light of Xaryxis could be fun with some reworks! High elves with an additional racial trait to make Astral Elves (||the main bbegs in that module||). Gith for Time raiders, vampirates (are there already vampires in Draw steel? ifso thats an easy one), a session in a space arena to earn an audience with an ally against the baddies, plasmoids/ooze beings, etc.

As written its a 12 session adventure but alot of it can be cut. On the other end, it can be pretty easily modified to run longer. I ran a 40ish session Spelljammer campaign using Light of Xaryxis as the core plot just adding more planets and quests to make it a more full campaign.

Ahoy @hasty kestrel ! I don't have a previous adventure module in mind, but I'm working on a sci-fantasy "quest" (short adventure, maybe one-ish session right now. Let me know if you'd like to be a playtester and I'll send you a link to the manuscript once it is ready for testing.

awesome. i'll have a playtest manuscript for you in a few days. i'm debating right now whether i need to design statblocks or if i can use pre-existing ones. this is a quest for level 7 heroes, and all the challenges are designed to be at the hard difficulty level.

Sounds cool. Maybe design your own boss but adapt existing minion and low level creatures from the Monsters book?
