I’ll add to this as it develops, but my play-by-post game has felt like it’s worth sharing.

Quick Synopsis
The adventure begins in Upper Dura of the city of Sharn. The heroes fight goblinoids and descend through many levels of Sharn to try sealing a Dhakaani vault.

Scene 1
An explosion rocks the Adventurer Guild’s guildhall. Dhakaani goblinoids armed to the teeth rappel through the fiery opening in the wall and attack, singing their culture’s dirges.

The heroes sit at a table nearby. Would-be adventurers are running away. Time to be heroes.

After each round, the fire grows in size (1x1 becomes 2x2, and so on).

All the while, combatants are at risk of being tossed out of the tower through the hole.

Immediately after the combat, a Montage Test to put out the fires begins.

With their second victory earned, they meet a polder illusionist with a job for them.

#

He just wants fresh faces with light pockets because he can’t pay much. All he asks is to join them on the mission, but he admits he can’t fight. He’ll strictly observe.

If they take the job, we get something like a “heist planning” scene of deciding what stops they want to make along the way.

He creates a hologram of the city and gives them the rundown of side quests and likely challenges and rewards.

My group took the Fallen side quest first. We arrived and began a Montage Test.
