For those that crave the classic RPG elemental trio, I have finished designing my Ice and Lightning specializations up to 10th level: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1svH-fJVTm8uXOKB_L6tpO2f13f6-JWvV-QPBQ5efMUU/edit?usp=sharing

This is awesome, thank you so much. quick question just for formating, is the Effect supposed to be before the Power rolls for Gone in a puff of snow (5 Essence)?

mighty lotus
#

Yes it is, the power roll is for the effect rather than the effect being additional to the power roll. See 'Translated Through Flames (5-Essence)' from the core rules for another example of this formatting

Hey gotta ask since I plan to use Forge steel with your Elementalists, but have you had an opportunity to add this homebrew to your Forgesteel in case you use it?

mighty lotus

No, I didn't know that was a thing in forge steel. I might at some point but probably not for a while

After testing it out, I can truly appreciate how much thought has been put into every ability and how flavor works with the mechanics, looking forward to any updates mcdmheart

One question though, how much damage is dealt here?

mighty lotus

Thank you so much, that means a lot. And that's amazing, as far as I know you are the first to ever play it.

#

Good catch, that should be damage equal to your Reason score, I'll update it now

I have a player who used to be an Ice theme sorceress in 5E, so you're a life saver. But I love the bursts and summoning of masses of ice, I've always imagined as the casters being constantly surrounded with an ice storm.

We've only played level 1 so far, I was wondering how does Disciple of Ice giving concealment work with Master of Ice being able to Hide permanently as long as there are no adjacent creatues. Is it intended to work together and be able to Hide all the time maybe thats balanced for level 10 nooo idea.

I think it's almost definitely way overpowered but also I plan on changing both disciple abilities to something more exciting in the style of the green and void ones once I have a good idea for them

Can't wait to test it out truly

Matt Colvilles most recent video brought me here. It's 3 am and I'm barely functioning so I'll read more thoroughly tomorrow buuttr

Hear me out

Wouldn't it make more sense for the lightning elementalist to shift? I feel like their fantasy involved speed. I picture ice elementalists getting more defensive as they put up walls of ice around them and give themselves ice armor

Well the theming for air is movement and speed and earth already covers defensiveness so I wanted to find unique themes to build around. Lightning is connection, arcing between points so its mostly focused on multiple targets. Ice is isolation, escapes and traps, and I gave them the shift to act like sliding on an icy surface.

#

I want to revisit these especially now that its gotten a shoutout and I've had some experience actually playing the game and not just reading the rules, but I don't plan on changing the themes. I like the vibe they bring and I like that they mirror each other

Ice is slippery and so is an ice mage!

You got a shoutout? That's awesome! I've been checking this thread every once and a while to see if there's ever any updates.

I've been messing around with some new class ideas instead for the past few months but now I feel pretty motivated to polish these up

For anyone interested, I finally got around to updating a bunch of little things, did a layout pass, and added some more level 5 shared element abilities
