Hi Everyone!

I'd like to invite you all to join me in an adventure I am calling "Everything is Great".

EiG is currently an easy to play 1v1 RTS-lite themed around the First World War. Throughout development I hope to build this out into a fully featured, highly accessible RTS, and balance it with feedback from all of you!

I am immensely excited to hear feedback from players on what should cost more, fire faster, be weaker, any notes at all! Balancing games like RTSs takes TONS of discussion and I hope to share that with you guys!

Right now you can play with three "Slots" available:

Light Riflemen
Light Tanks
Machine Gun Emplacements

In the future I plan to add more Troopers, Artillery, Landships, Aircraft, and even Paratroopers! If it was used in the Great War, it's fair game!

My current priorities are:

  • Selling structures
  • Build radius and expansion
  • Harassable Economy
  • Teching into and ejecting slots.

How to play:

Stand in the red box in the lobby with a partner to start a match. Destroy your opponent's HQ to win!

Controls:

Tap the Right Mouse Button (RMB) to issue an Attack Move order to your whole army.

Hold RMB to issue a Hold Fire Follow order to your whole army.

Release RMB after holding to issue an Attack Follow order to your whole army.

Left Mouse Button (LMB) only issues orders to the selected slot.

By pressing the 1 - 6 keys, you can select a slot. By holding a number key you can Eject a slot!

You can issue Attack Move, Hold Fire Follow, and Attack Follow orders to each slot independently using LMB, or issue Army Wide orders with RMB.

Press B or E to toggle Build Mode. Select the slot you'd like to build with the 1-6 keys!

Tap LMB in build mode to place a new structure. Hold RMB over a structure to sell both the structure and its units for a refund based on remaining hp.

Hey guys!

I set all the stuff I could think of for EiG to remixable now that things are mostly working. Its not the BEST time to make your own RTS race but if you guys want to, you are welcome to remix EiG and make your own units/structures!

Later on I will make the system more robust and extendable. At the moment, if you take a look at the BathTub dev object on the mountain, under the eig_slot_manager script there are a few public templates. If you spawn and create a template for a structure and unit using mine as a guide, you can fill out your own units! More unit slots are ABSOLUTELY coming soon, and I plan to rework all of this shortly for teching!

Once I deal with some work stuff, I'm really excited to put together a video guide for everyone so we can all make some cool stuff together!

Allo everyone! I'm inching us closer and closer to a modular RTS where we can just throw in ANY units you want.

I just threw in adding and ejecting slots to the base RTS library. If you hold the number of a slot for ~1.5 seconds, the slot is removed and all units/structures are refunded for their current HP.

When I get this rolling, the map will have Intel Briefcases scattered throughout the map, and players will need to actually go out and find them to tech up! You'll only have so many slots, so you're gonna have to pick and chose!

The UI will end up looking similar to Tooth&Tails hotbar, with the exception of changing your unit composition on the fly!

In the end, players will have to observe what their opponent is fielding mid-match, and change their army composition to account for it!

More to come! I can't wait to get a video rolling once my voice is back!

Hey guys!

I've added a BUNCH to EiG and wanted to share an update with everyone!

Some changes include:

  • A new hotbar showing your available units. Press 1-6 to select a slot. Hold 1-6 to eject one! All structures and units of that type will be refunded on slot eject.

  • Tech Modules. Walk over a briefcase to add the displayed unit to your hotbar. Modules are dropped at intervals in the middle of the map.

  • Performance and bug fixes

  • Lobby Improvements including better teleporters!

  • An expanded unit list!

  • Updated Everything is Ghastly

Expanded Unit List:

Light Riflemen

  • Standard light infantry

Heavy Riflemen

  • Slightly stronger but more expensive infantry

Submachine Gunners

  • Cheap and weak infantry that thrives in aggression

Light Tanks

  • Lightly armored vehicle with an mild explosive shot

Landships

  • Well armored tank with an explosive shot

K-Wagens

  • Super heavy tank

Machine Gun Emplacements

  • Cheaper defensive structure to withstand pushes

Artillery Emplacements

  • Long range and deadly Artillery. Be careful with your infantry if you see one of these!!

Woooh this is really cool! I'm loving the new tech being dropped from the sky. It's a little difficult to see which buildings produce which unit but that doesn't seem like a difficult problem to solve. Keep up the amazing work!
