How far can his powers reach and how much streath do they compare with his normal arms
As long as he can see what he is trying to move, he can move it. And strength wise, it's the same as with arms. So he'll struggle to lift heavy objects.
Ah, okie
Attempting to lift heavy objects can give him headaches, like how normal people get muscle strains
That's actually really cool lore building
thanks
i like my characters to have some sort of lore to them
also
because of his psychic powers, he is immune to mind control
still trying to work out how
I'd love to hear origin stories for their powers
I think I've already mentioned, but no one knows how anyone's powers originate.
They just develop over time.
Oh yeah
I member now
All they know is that it's not genetic
And it can just happen randomly
So, for example, while Emily can speak to animals, Claire has no super powers whatsoever
what?
don't be mean
They're both losing in the powers department
Emily's powers literally kept her alive during the period between leaving the cult and meeting Claire.
And Emily relies on Claire physically and emotionally.
I meant just generally
The butterfly effect
There's a butterfly effect somewhere in this
elaborate?
Without the powers she wouldn't have been indoctrinated into the cult
oh yeah
But here's the thing
she still would have been trans
and her parents still would have kicked her out
so she would have ended up in the forest regardless
True
she just would have had a harder time surviving
and assuming she did survive, she would still meet claire
it's just that her trauma wouldn't be as bad
Nous that you say it like that...yeah maybe her powers did help her
it's still there due to transphobia and not indoctrination and memory loss
she literally befriended the forest animals to prevent them from killing her
Why are you saying it like that?
@solemn crest I made a mistake
I got one of my character's names wrong
I've been calling Elaine Emily this whole time 😭
I'm terrible with names but I was wondering if her name wasn't something different but didn't question it
I genuinely thought her name was Emily
Emily
I also confuse my character's names a lot. Nothing out of the ordinary
Sometimes I even stick to the names I confused them with
I went to a Scrabble writing event at the library on Saturday and it felt like it tightened a loose screw in my writing that day.
I think it did it for everyone.
The last prompt we got had us writing and writing.
It was a lot of fun to learn new ways to bring out the creativity in our writing.
No, it's 22:10
The wizard
yes
Yes
well here are some more details about him that i totally didn't think up today to try and distract myself from my depressing thoughts
- He is one of only 5 wizards in the world

they have a whatsapp group chat
he is around 1,000 years old
his real name is unknown because he forgot it
all wizards possess the powers of immortaility and proficiency in magic
When I say immortal, I mean he literally cannot die
They give off old people vibes
they are literally 1,000
It would be funny if they used Discord and gamed on weekend's
they considered, but felt 5 people was too little for a discord
The dimentia got to him that badly
He's like the immortal
he doesn't have dementia. he just hadn't used his real name in centuries
what else
Fair
Most books about him were written by him
he lives on top of a mountain in isolation
he smokes pot
Why's he fighting pots? /J
since there's only 5 wizards, most of their magic was self taught
since he's also non-human, he's naturally immune to both possession and mind-control
I can't even teach myself how to speak correctly, they must be good
-# I know you talked about their proficiency in magic
i mean, they had a couple hundred years to practice
he can also read ancient scripts, which is how he was able to free evilectric from the soul demon
What's their deal anyway. The wizards that is, do they just live to help people or they're just there
I can't speak for the other 4 since they're not important characters in my story, but Hocus Pocus only helps out in a time of absolute crisis. There is a story line I'm planning where the cult leader infects Claire and begins mind controlling the world (her powers become much stronger by this point. So Elaine and Evilectric team up and go to Hocus Pocus for help as the cult leader's powers can't affect them, and he helps them build a team to take her down, including blind-deaf kid, the telekinetic guy with the straitjacket, Lucid Dreamer and the skeleton archer, to name a few. Hocus Pocus also says they'll need the Soul Demon to help take her down, which Evilectric is obviously adamantly against.
Otherwise he just chills at home
I don't even know what you fixed 😔
only helping at a time of crisis is great use of his magic. Sometimes in times like this I ask myself, "wouldn't it be easier to just kill the person in charge"
I don't even know what you fixed 😔
I forgot to include Lucid Dreamer
only helping at a time of crisis is great use of his magic. Sometimes in times like this I ask myself, "wouldn't it be easier to just kill the person in charge"
He doesn't kill people. Not because he can't. He absolutely can. He just doesn't want that guilt saddling with him for the rest of his life, which by the way, is forever since he cannot die.
Immortality is probably the worst curse someone could be given
he is still capable of feeling pain
his magic isn't all powerful. it's more like magic from a final fantasy or fire emblem game, if that makes sense
That scale makes sense
he also trys to keep up with the times
That's why he games on discord with the other wizards every weekend /j
he once broke his wrist skateboarding
He should have known that skateboarding is the single most dangerous thing in the world
I had a skateboard when I was a kid, and I fell once but I had a helmet, knee, elbow and arm guards so I was okay
He easily could use magic to heal himself, however one of his areas of research is human evolution, so he wanted to experience letting his wrist heal naturally. However, due to the fact that his body is literally magic, it just healed by itself. He still insisted on wearing a cast though for the authentic experience.
he looks like a mix between gandalf and dumbledore. so mid 60s
long beard obviously
and blue starred robes
he likes the classic wizard look
wizards don't age normally
or at all
they grow up, but that's about it
Interesting
I forget, Oracle's can tell the future... right?
yes
he can see the future
he can also teleport
but he prefers to drive in his sports coupé because it's cooler
Interesting magician wizard stuff
he's not a magician. his magic is real and not just illusions
Where did he get the money to buy a car
he's 1000 years old. he's rich as fuck
Fair
Despite his extremely laid back attitude, he is a force to be reckoned with
I would not want to get on his bad side
Usually his way of dealing with bad people is by magically tying them down and telling them stories for hours on end. The only time he'll use near lethal force is with world ending threats
I've been meaning to focus on character building and not make more characters recently but I don't know what character(s) to focus on. And I fell into my own trap...
Stories? What kind of stories?
stories about his life
he's been around for a long time
He definitely has a story or two...or a thousand to tell
Style at the time??? What style are we talking about
It's a reference
Simpsons?
yes
I figured
that's all the details i have about him
I will be here tomorrow to tell you about one of my characters. More about him snd the story I have him in
nice
You've been doing too much of the sharing, it's my time... tommorow
yes
Today I'm too tired to type
is it bad that most of my characters have some form of physical or mental disability?
I hadn't noticed. I don't think it is but I'm probably not the person to ask about stuff like this
okay
thanks
it's just something i've noticed
where i give a character something that holds them back
Well, I'm sorta the opposite kinda
I give my characters the best stuff but the only thing holding them back is the way they think of people around them
i see
i haven't really thought about character relations much outside of what i've already shared
Ah well, a lot of people don't so it's nothing to worry about
@solemn crest lore: So the fire/ice guy. Half of his body is fire, the other half is ice. He's actually two people. Due to some accident, they merged and are unable to separate, giving them effectively a split personality
It's creative to add that to the character
Well, characters now i guess
also i guess he's a villain not sure if i established that
Basically his split personality makes him both cold and calculating and fiery and hot tempered
Ah. Sounds like an old character of mine, tho the personalities weren't the same as yours
interesting
also his two halves hate each other
Naturally
So, her powers include mind manipulation, which means she can control one's thoughts and actions to her will. She can also erase minds. However, she needs to be awake for her powers to be active, so when she's asleep, anyone who was affected by her gains control of their mind again, but they don't regain their lost memories. They do, however, remember everything that happened while they were brainwashed. Effectively, they remember everything, but have no control.
Brainwashing, that's an OP ability
Her powers manifested at a young age, and she did wish to use them for good. However, she was a bit misguided on how she used them. She believed that if she manipulated people with powers to be superheroes, that the world would be saved. But her powers only work in a region close to her, about 5 kilometres. So, she had to effectively start a cult with herself as the leader, in order to keep anyone she mind controlled close to her so that they couldn't break free. She believed anyone not under her control would plunge the world into chaos. She's extremely religious and over time, developed a god complex. She saw the world as damaged, and thought she would be its saviour. She saw people with super powers as dangerous, and believed that they needed order, not realising that her powers were also dangerous. After a few years of travelling the lands, gathering "loyal" followers, or disciples, she met someone who wouldn't bend to her will: Evilectric. His power to control the electrochemistry in his brain meant he couldn't be brainwashed. And he had no desire to use his powers to help save the world. This greatly hurt her feelings. Why would someone not want to save the world? Why wouldn't he join her side? Why wouldn't her powers work on him?! At the time, Evilectric was unaware of his immunity to being brainwashed, as this was the first time someone had tried to brainwash him. And she wasn't aware of this either, so she thought that she was the problem. This moment sparked a rage inside her that never extinguished. In order to save the world, she needed all of it to bend to her will. So, she mind controlled her superheroes to attack Evilectric to force him over to her side, but he defeated them. She then started using her powers to convince people that Evilectric was a monster, and gave him his name; a name he would keep.
Eventually, over time, her powers grew stronger and stronger, fuled by rage and a deep obsession with being the world's saviour, to the point where her powers were affecting herself. Meaning that her brainwashing had gotten so powerful, that she herself was affected, and truly believed what she was doing was right.
Her powers only affect humans
Evilectric did fight her heroes a few number of times, but never realised they were being brainwashed.
Then at some point, the whole Soul Demon fiasco happened so he ended up forgetting about her, and went to deal with that. (This is around the time Elaine escapes the cult, so you know what the timeline of events is)
Okay, so she can't use her powers if they're too far... interesting
Is she recruiting only children and weak super Heroes??? How did Evilectric defeat all of them
And I love how the Evilectric name got developed even tho it came from a totally different origin at first
This is making me think that Evilectric just beat up a kid who could only speak to animals
Is she recruiting only children and weak super Heroes???
She's recruiting everyone. However, she only sets a few heroes, like 3 or 4 on him at a time as she doesn't want to kill him.
How did Evilectric defeat all of them
Superspeed
And I love how the Evilectric name got developed even tho it came from a totally different origin at first
He has electrokinesis so evil + electric. Also, I can change details of the story if I want
Evilectric can't speak to animals. Only Elaine can.
Okay, so she can't use her powers if they're too far... interesting
Overtime, this does grow stronger, and she develops a way to be able to control the entire world
But also, he wasn't going after the heroes himself. They were going after him. He saw them as an annoyance.
This all makes sense
But after the Soul Demon, being blinded for two years, then being exorcised by Hocus Pocus, Evilectric finally designs his costume and becomes a full fledged supervillain (or at least in the eyes of the cult)
No I got it
That's what I meant
if Elaine ever got sent to catch Evilectric, then Evil would have just been beating up a kid.
Elaine was never sent after him, as her powers are not designed for combat.
The cult leader wasn't stupid
Oh, good
I couldn't imagine it
-# I just did
So, the forest that Elaine and Claire live in is protected by magic, which means the leader's powers can't enter. Due to some reason or another which I'm still working on, Claire gets brainwashed, and Evilectric and Elaine have to team up. Elaine tells Evilectric about the cult, which dawns a huge realisation on him. The heroes he had been fighting were under mind control the whole time. She also tells him about the cult's need for heroes to always show their faces, and that part of the reason she wears an eyepatch is as a fuck you to the cult. Basically, anyone who opposes the cult typically covers part or all of their face as a symbol. This is what leads Evilectric to design his costume.
She feels like Invincible Spoilers ahead [mostly the last episode of season 1 onwards] ||what the Viltrimite empire is trying to do to other planets. Taking over because they're stronger and saying that they'll help them but they need to kill a few million people to make them understand that and resisting will only lead to more people being killed. Besides the killing ofcourse||
Basically
Also
This all makes sense to me. Tying everything together that way is smart
Thank you. I only just came up with it.
Also
I've finally come up with a name for the cult leader
||Unity||
Brilliant
It's like I'm watching a master writer have their huge breakthrough but only tinier
For being the central antagonist, she at least isn't killing anyone. Tho brainwashing people to be who you want them to be is basically killing the person from the inside depending on whi you ask
She is also erasing their minds
So any semblance of who they were is gone
Which is basically erasing them
Exactly
Which is murder
That's horrible
She is extremely disillusioned
The story line I have is that Evilectric and Elaine go to Hocus Pocus for help, and they gather a team of people who can help take her down. This includes the telekinetic guy in the straitjacket, the blind-deaf kid, Lucid Dreamer, Vampierre, the fire/ice guy and the skeleton archer
An interesting storyline. I would read it if you wrote everything down, tho you would need to write from the beginning for it to make sense
I'm still trying to pull it all together. There are characters I need to establish more for that to happen.
Also, the forest that Elaine and Claire live in was planted by Hocus Pocus
Mhm
Godspeed on your endeavours
Thanks.
Got bored
?
I was making a joke how Hocus Pocus got so bored that he just decided to plant a forest but I know there's a reason to why he did
So, do I start mine now?
Would you be okay with doing it tomorrow?
I'm going to bed soon
Or you can post it now, I just won't read it until tomorrow
Sure. I will start today because it's really long, you'll find it when you have time
Perfect
looking forward to it
It'll take like half an hour or so to write so I better start...in like 3 minutes
I'll let you know once I've read it
Okie
Meet Eric
He was a normal kid until the shadow samurai (#1171400614517936139 message) attacked his home village with his army of bandits looking for a Meteor that landed on to the planet.
-#quick info lore on stuff. So humans in my world drink water, and this water (if not purified) should have tiny molecules of this mineral that activates a gene in them that determines if they have powers or not. This mineral also fuses with you, so you can't really excrete any of it if you digested any of it. Anyone can have the gene and it is NOT hereditary, not all of the genes are the same and the type of gene you have will determine what power you have, some genes being rarer than others. And this mineral is kind of weird, not all types of this mineral is built the same, so some places has a more juiced up version of it that unlocks more of their genes which is where more than one power comes from.
So if you took that all in, the big info drop that you could probably already tell is that this meteor is made out of this mineral. And also, it is the most juiced up version of the mineral that it can get, so it makes sense why the Shadow Samurai along with a lot more other powerful people want it.
So they raid the village and either purposefully or not, they destroy a bunch of it and get a few people killed which surprise surprise, Eric's parents and siblings were one of the very unlucky few who suffered fatal injuries. Apon finding this out, he reasonably crashes out and runs away from the village all sad as hell (also, he is like 10 when this happened). He gets lost in a forest and finds a really deep cave which the Meteor fell in after crashing into earth. He falls in the cave suffering minor injuries, he finds the meteor and touches it, but it being bigger than the normal size (normal size being the size of a salt grain and the meteor being like 5 heads big), the meteor doesn't work as a normal sized mineral would.
By the merits of deducing facts and evidence (also that it glowed when he touched it) he realises that it's the meteor that the samurai was looking for.
-# gonna skim over a lot of this
But he drags it out of the cave with him, finds a blacksmith and convinces him to make the meteor into a sword (it has metal properties). The swordsmith agrees and blah blah blah, he trains and stuff, gets himself armoured stuff that he can wear as clothes in combat and decides to find the Shadow Samurai to kill him once and for all.
-# the meteor gave him abilities that are: speed, fire, an ability to sense his surroundings and an ability that gives him a 10% chance of absorbing someone's ability when he kills them and also demon like abilities
-# Hecannot leave the sword behind because without it, his abilities get weaker (like 60% weaker) so he carries it everywhere (and as long as it's below 100 meters from him, he won't get weaker). The more of the mineral he has on him, the stronger he is. Which is why go got his chest plate, arm and leg guards also made from the meteor. He can also summon the sword to him (well not summoning, it just flies to him)
-#btw, nobody else can fuse with it after he already fused with it, it's his alone
So Eric is basically fuled by rage, all he's wanted since the incident was to get revenge on the shadow samurai by any means necessary. He doesn't ever hesitate to kill a few people if he thinks that it will get him closer to reaching his goal, only exception to the killing rule is normal civilians.
He uses his sword a lot for the fighting since his abilities aren't really for fighting and the only one that is wouldn't get the job done fast and efficiently enough as he describes.
This is where the other character in this story comes in, her name is Hayley, and Hayley is a trans girl who ran away from home and went Cyber City (name is a work in progress) because she hated how her father treats her just because she's trans.
-# discord and it's character limit smh
So her dad is basically ruler of the country they're in because democracy is a joke over there, so that makes her the princess and stuff. Only reason she can run away is because her family is ultra rich which helps when you don't know where to go. But she knows where to go and that's to a really safe and inclusive part of Cyber City which is basically like a gated neighborhood but for LGBTQ+ individuals who just want to be themselves without being judged.
But here's the problem, Hayley doesn't know smack about the city so she doesn't know the safer way to get there because map apps suck. She passed by a part of the city that's known to be crime central. While passing by, thugs see her and try to rob her by basically illegal food stalls where coincidentally Eric went the same time to find information about the Shadow Samurai and where he could be found. When he was stuck he just decided to stay and order something from one of the illegal stalls, and that's when he overhears the thugs trying to rob Hayley. Normally he wouldn't care but he saw Hayley and how scared and vulnerable she looked and decided to help her not get robbed. Which he does pretty well cuz he's like insanely fast and good at combat.
Blah blah blah, he offers to help Hayley get to the gated community but Hayley kind of has a crush on him so he asks if she can go with him and promises not to get killed and stuff. After a bit of annoying, he allows her to go with him but to keep a safe distance when he's in a fight with people.
-# fastforward later
Hayley is the only reason that he doesn't resort to killing as much as he would have usually would have, which makes him kind of less tense all the time and also him being hard kind of rubs onto Hayley and teaches her to basically stand her own ground and stuff.
For the most part, Hayley is just company to Eric while he tries to find and kill the shadow samurai.
That's all I'll say today because I'm getting tired
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I've been writing this for so long
I hope any of this makes sense
As I said, I got tired yesterday and realised I didn't explain something.
When you read this, you might be wondering (or not) what demon like abilities are.
So basically it's just abilities that make him appear to be a demon.
In parallel to the "fear eyes" curse, there's an ability that works the same as it that can be activated at will. But this ability gives the user red glowing eyes.
Another ability he has that is a demon like ability is one one that emits an electromagnetic wave from his body that can affect people near him like messing with their inner ear which they need to balance. Side effects of this ability are electronics like light bulbs getting overwhelmed and just breaking. It can also cause radio signals to get disrupted.
#1171400614517936139 message reference for Eric and Hayley.
Though I'm working on changing the designs
He was a normal kid until the shadow samurai (「🎨」hobbiesCreative Writing) attacked his home village with his army of bandits looking for a Meteor that landed on to the planet.
This reminds me of this: https://youtu.be/iVzAMmpMra8?si=Mv79AcSh4GBPyW0D
an ability to sense his surroundings
So, like Spidey Sense?
Hayley is a trans girl who ran away from home
She just like Elaine.
This reminds me of this: https://youtu.be/iVzAMmpMra8?si=Mv79AcSh4GBPyW0D
I can see why
So, like Spidey Sense?
Yes
She just like Elaine.
I wrote that plotline well over 2 years ago, it's a huge coincidence
I wrote that plotline well over 2 years ago
Remind me again when you realised you were trans?
Towards the end of last year
The more and more I look into myself, the more i wonder how I never noticed.
The signs were always there. In fact, you created some of the signs and didn't even notice.
But enough about that
I love the story
Eric and Haley seem like cool characters
It's like a sign maker making a speed limit sign, placing it and still going over the speed limit
Thanks!
You're welcome
any one got any tips for becoming a writter
#「🌈」general message @solemn crest Basically, in the dream, I was Evilectric, and I was being mugged at gunpoint by Jake Peralta, Charles Boyle and Vic Michaelis. And I was using my powers to conjure up a thunderstorm. But it required a lot of physical effort to make, so I was struggling to make it powerful.
That's the weirdest dream ever.
Specifically getting robbed by Jake Peralta, Charles Boyle and Vic Micnaelis
Do you have something against them
No, they were just the people in my dream.
But now I've got new lore: Evilectric needs a lot of power in order to summon a thunderstorm.
We are most creative in our dreams
inhales ok so basically three worlds were broken into pieces and they're basically sci-fi chunk, modern world chunk and fantasy chunk. They all got formed together

:P
So, this takes place very late into my world. Basically, Unity has gone completely insane and has begun taking control of the entire world, including Elaine's wife, Claire. Evilectric and Elaine go to see the wizard Hocus Pocus in order to come up with a plan to defeat Unity. They go in search of individuals who are immune to Unity's powers and a few individuals who haven't yet been brainwashed in order to fight her (they give those people a device which blocks out mind control signals, which they only have a few of). Anyway (this part isn't super relevant right now because I haven't really thought it through), they eventually arrive at Unity's lair, and take the fight to her. Unity, having a bunch of superheroes under her control, attacks the group. During the fight however, Hocus Pocus is knocked unconscious, and the telekinetic guy's straitjacket is removed, causing him to have a mental breakdown and forcing Evilectric to super speed him back to the hospital (still need to come up with a name for him). Blind-deaf kid's eyes and ears are ||ruptured|| during the fight, causing him to lose his powers. Fire/ice guy is ripped in half, killing him. And the other heroes are killed or incapacitated in some way, except Elaine. Elaine confronts Unity, the woman who took away so much from her; her life, her memories and her wife. Unity tells Elaine that she had been spying on her ever since she left the cult, but couldn't touch her due to the protection of the forest. She tells Elaine that she ||would never be a woman (trying not to trigger automod here)|| and that escaping the cult was the single greatest mistake she would make in her life. Enraged, Elaine lunges to attack her, but Unity sends out one last psychic command to those under her control: ||die (suicide) (again trying not to trigger automod)||. Elaine watches in horror as the heroes and civilians under Unity's control ||take their lives||. Realising there was nothing she could do, she turns and sees Claire, the love of her life, and her sole reason for living ||take her life right in front of her, having no say or control in what she did||. Unity then ||takes her own life||, believing that if the world couldn't be under her control, then it shouldn't exist. Out of the few that remained, Hocus Pocus went into a deep depression and into exile, telekinetic guy suffered a psychotic breakdown and never left the hospital again, blind-deaf kid went into foster care ||his parents got brainwashed|| and Evilectric (I haven't thought up an ending for him). Claire's ||body was buried in the forest, right in front of the lake where she and Elaine first met.|| Elaine took her eyepatch off for the last time, left it on Claire's ||grave, and then drowned herself in the lake so that she could be with her love once more.|| ||Humanity had gone extinct.|| Clouds covered the once fair land, and behind those clouds was ||Hocus Pocus, looking into his crystal ball. He had seen a vision of the future, the future they were about to enter. He looked into the next room to see Evilectric and Elaine talking, and decided to tell them what he saw. He told them the only way to prevent this future was simple: someone needed to kill Unity.||
Blind-deaf kid's eyes are ||raptured|| during the right
For a second I thought that you meant the other type of rapture
Also, that must suck.
Trying not to trigger automod here
If you did, I'm not really sure if you can copy your auyomodded text on PC, if you couldn't that would suck
-
I love how we both have a sorta cataclysmic event that kills a lot of people in our world. Well, yours being a million times worse than the one I have for my world
-
I didn't know you had a twisted mind, Evil /j
Also, I waited patiently for you to send the message but at the last minute before you sent, something came up and I had to leave for a few minutes
Blind-deaf kid's eyes are ||raptured ||during the right
||ruptured, not raptured||
I forgot that they were spelt differently
They mean two different things
I have a small tiny brain
I love how we both have a sorta cataclysmic event that kills a lot of people in our world. Well, yours being a million times worse than the one I have for my world
Yeah, but the ending shows that this is just a vision. They are going to try and prevent it.
I didn't know you had a twisted mind, Evil /j
yeah i want some dark themes in this series to add a level of seriousness
I mean, yeah
But close enough
sure why not
this idea had been floating around my head for a while now and i needed to get it out there
You should be glad you did
This is some good material
thank you
still trying to fit all the pieces together and make story lines for the other characters, but i'm getting there
Same
I've stopped working on the power system and working on individual stories that fit together in the plot
They don't have to be specifically cause and effect, just to make sense for the timeline
yeah i get you
like, i have my overarching plot, which is unity trying to take over the world. i just need the smaller subplots that branch together to make that larger plot
@solemn crest another small lore drop, but another reason elaine wears an eyepatch aside from dysphoria and rebellion is that she's afraid of people recognising her as animal boy
@solemn crest Lore drop:
-
All species in my world can fall under one of two categories: humans and non-humans. Non-humans can be subcategorised into species, such as animals or wizards, like Hocus Pocus. Non-humans are fully immune to the effects of mind control. Humans are not, with a few exceptions, such as Evilectric, who can control the electrochemistry of his brain. Non-humans can still be possessed though, but only once.
-
On that note: possession vs mind control. Possession is someone controlling your body, but not your mind. Mind control is sorta the opposite. With possession, the possessor, be they a ghost or a demon, has full control over your body and can speak through you, however you are still conscious, just unable to do anything. Some possessors, such as the Soul Demon, have weaknesses that can help supress possession, but not remove it. In the Soul Demon's case, it's covering the eyes of the possessed. All possession can only removed by hearing an ancient verse that is only known by wizards. Once freed of possession, a person may never be possessed again. Non-humans can be possessed. Mind control, on the other hand, works slightly differently. You are being controlled by an external source, rather than an internal one. While you are able to form your own thoughts during possession, but unable to act on them, with mind control, you can't think for yourself at all. Mind control also includes mind erasure; any memories you had before being mind controlled are erased and need to be remembered, which can't be done while under the effects of mind control. The mind controller must also be awake and within close proximity in order for their powers to work. Once freed from the effects of mind control due to the mind controller being asleep, the effected is able to form their own thoughts again, however, they need at least 24 hours for their mind to recover before they are granted immunity. This does not restore their memories however, and they need to recover those another way. In the case of Elaine, she kept a diary which allowed her to realise that she could escape. Since she was protected by the magical forest by the time Unity woke up, she became immune to mind control. However, her memories from before the cult were erased. Any memories gained while under the effects of mind control remain, and have to be forgotten via some other means. Non-humans cannot be mind controlled.
I thought this was normal until I read that Wizards are not considered human. Which makes sense tbh
This is all so interesting
such extensive lore building
There are also half-humans, but I haven't really thought much of them yet.
Honestly fair
They haven't really served a purpose in your stories yet
yeah
I've also created some artifacts and whatnot:
-
I've already shared the stopwatch. An artifact that allows time to be stopped for one hour a day, but needs 24 hours to recharge. The hour can be broken up into sections.
-
There's the power handcuffs. How these work is that two people link together and gain immeasurable strength, durability and stamina, but at the cost of being attached to another person. The handcuffs can only be removed if both parties subconsciously agree to want to have them removed, which can be difficult as their effect is addictive. Has no effect if one person tries to use them.
I've also been thinking up curses, similar to your world.
About the power handcuffs
What if the other person dies
The handcuffs get removed
their lifeforce is not shared
The handcuffs seem kind of impractical for long term use imo
Also
I have a new set of characters in a whole new story that I'd like to share and more world building
But I will share it tommorow because rn I'm tired of...travelling
|| don't say what I think you will say ||
oooh exciting
well i wasn't going to, but now i have to

so are you feeling a little jet lagged?
also
when someone in my world dies, they come back as a ghost
Ghosts can only be seen and heard by non-humans
So that's why the dogs outside my house are barking a lot
They also have the powers of possession, similar to demons, but are much weaker
exactly
Like at least 5 dogs are barking outside and I hate it
If I died and came back as a ghost, I'd possess my enemies hamster and start breakdancing in the cage
All curses are temporary. Obviously, there's curses relating to blindness, deafness and muteness. Blind-deaf kid's affliction is not a curse, but a disability as it's permanent in his case, as they are the direct cause of his powers.
There's the double-time curse. Basically, time moves twice as slowly for you. 1 second takes twice as long. From other people's perspective, you are moving in slow motion. Okay this one is really confusing, even for me. I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say, because I'm struggling to think of the right words.
The blindness, deafness and muteness curses come in vanilla flavours, but also have different menu options. First is the Love is Blind curse. Basically, this curse prevents the affected from falling in love unless they are wearing a blindfold. If they end up falling in love, their love must then remove the blindfold. If they are their true love, the curse is lifted, however, if not, the cursed falls out of love, and the love is also affected by the curse.
Then there's Forced Muteness. Regular muteness curse prevents the cursed from speaking entirely. Forced Muteness means they can still speak, but if they do, anything that hears their voice instantly perishes, the cursed not withstanding.
There's the inverted gravity curse, which flips a person's gravity. If they are outside, they will fall upwards to their death. To hopefully prevent this, the cursed are given an hour from when initially cursed before it takes effect.
There's the heavy gravity curse, which prevents a person from lifting their feet off the ground. They can still move, and can get other people to lift their feet for them, but are unable to do so themselves. People affected by the heavy gravity curse usually use a wheelchair to get around.
If time is moving twice as slow for you, wouldn't you be the one viewing people in slow motion though?
and for the heavy gravity curse, let's say thar hypothetically someone used robotic things to move his leg with his mind. Instead of moving his leg, he's moving the mechanism
would it work?
If time is moving twice as slow for you, wouldn't you be the one viewing people in slow motion though?
Like I said, I'm struggling to come up with the wording, but everything takes twice as long for you.
and for the heavy gravity curse, let's say thar hypothetically someone used robotic things to move his leg with his mind. Instead of moving his leg, he's moving the mechanism :thinkaboutit: would it work?
yes. the curse only prevents you from lifting your feet by themselves
New strategy unlocked
I love how the curses in your world are basic stuff (nothing wrong with that) and mine are "if someone steps near you, there's a chance you might die"
Mine aren't really plot relevant. They're just something that exists and that people need be wary of.
Mine have heavy plot relevance
I should think about the story more in the future
yeah. i should also try and start structuring my story, but i'm very tired and busy, so i'm happier just making pices of the puzzle and trying to fit them together
also, i've decided that since Evilectric is supposed to be a dark reflection of me, ||his real name is Eve, and he is non-binary like i am||
And unlike you, I'm not busy so I should do that...on Tuesday maybe
I'll have cohesive stories that tie in together almost perfectly when I'm done
ooooh
exciting
🔌
I love how you went from
This is Evilectric, my oc > This is Evilectric, my OC who is based off of me a bit > This is Evilectric, he is literally me but dark
One day it will be, "this is Evilectric, he is literally me"
Hover, I've been using the username Evilectric for over 10 years now. He was originally based off of a super hero I created called Electric Boy who was supposed to be me with superpowers.
But as it currently stands, Evilectric is what I would be like if I had superpowers.
Basically, everything that I hate with the world is reflected through him. ||Yes, he is an excuse for me to vent.||
#LegalizeVenting
Also, Evilectric likes to wear an eyepatch sometimes for stylistic reasons, but not all the time like Elaine. Yes I like wearing eyepatches. Don't judge me
I'd be the last person to judge you
I want to have clothing that look like magical girl outfits
magical girl?
And they look ridiculous to have yet I still want them
Like Sailor Moon etc.
ah okay
honestly for me, i want a basic black dress and an eyepatch. mysterious, but effective
I just remembered how short of a skirt she has
whys it so short, I hate any type of shorts or skirts, they feel weird to wear
go for a longer one then
You're going to be like a secret spy and stuff
i also like dressing masculine. my gender expression changes constantly
i was thinking pirate, but sure
I feel like the style of clothing I'd actually wear if or when I transition is just going to be the most feminine lesbian stereotype you can think of
slay. honestly, i feel like every trans person just has that outfit vibe that they like
Like I can't just sit here and lie to myself that I'd buy dresses, i wanna be fashionable
This outfit 😍 I'd kill for it
that is a cool outfit
If you said otherwise, I'd probably never talk to you again /j
honestly, i also love supervillain outfits. like let me wear these as a casual fit
oh no. my one source of knowledge about botswana
Society isn't ready yet
also, i would like to cosplay as Evilectric someday. i have the hoodie. i just need to make the mask.
Masks are always the tricky part to a cosplay
Sure
What are Batswana fashion trends like?
Evil, I never go outside
You're asking the wrong person
I don't really pay attention, most people I've seen just wear anything, nothing really "trendy" but I could be wrong. Again, I don't pay attention.
You can honestly go on a website like TikTok and look through Botswana creators to see the gist of it.
The only people i could say somehow organise how they look like are "gangsters", just anyone who looks like they will pull put a knife and try to rob you. They usually wear a jean bucket hat with Jeans and a patterned T-Shirt, dont ask me why they wear like that 😬
interesting
thanks
@valid zenith Meet the Special Team
They're a team of 4 heroes and a leader.
Characters:
Disconnect
Ha-yoon
Cherry
Vincent
Ayra
Disconnect:
(Does not have any abilities btw)
He's the leader of the team, his real name is Luca Rossetti. He was a crazed scientist obsessed with immortality and power so he made a robotic body made from chromium and a special protocol for if he was ever close to death, the protocol was to remove his brain and transfer it to the body he made so he could control it.
Well, the day did come when he was close to death and he initiated the protocol.
Not gonna go into too much detail but this is basically the gist of what happened.
Him being the best scientist to ever live (forgot to mention that) he was targeted by an evil organisation to basically steal his tech and kill him. So they raided his place and in the midst of it, he activated his protocol then the rest is history.
This new body gave him power like never before. He is basically immune to any curse that a user might have because for most curses to work you'd need a body to either look into someone's eyes or have a bodily presence which he has neither a body or eyes. He can still use the cameras attached to the body he made to see though.
He can also control mechs through his brain and stuff...I should stop talking about him before it's too Longo I have 4 more characters for god sake.
.
Ha-yoon
He doesn't speak a word of English even though all his team mates do. He only speaks Korean which makes understanding him almost damn near impossible.
He is like one of a few hundred people in the world who have "special abilities". What special abilities are, they're basically just rare abilities that only that one person possesses and nobody else. Everyone who has a special ability can link to each other spiritually to a point where if one of them can call out for them even without being near each other. The only people that can do that is if they've met.
-# quick note, the only thing they can do is basically speak telepathically (but not that many words, maybe like 3 to 5).
So the special ability that Ha-yoon has is called Ghost retention. He can basically trap someone in a void of endlessness and torture. How it works is that a black spherical void appears out of the ground and hands come out of it, grabbing you and dragging you to the void. The only way to escape the void is if you wait for Ha-yoon to use the ability again and fly out of it if you have the ability to fly or swim out since the void has liquid properties without the actual liquid, though you would have to be really strong to escape the hands that are trying to grab onto you, they're weaker in the void than outside though. Or he would take you out of the void himself.
He also has the ability to levitate at any distance from ground.
Cherry
She has the special ability of warp, she can warp what her enemies see to basically be hallucinogenic and not see how it would be in the real world. It's practically like being blind but more fun. This ability only works for a few seconds and is draining. Definitely one of the more useless abilities.
Though if she doesn't use it to its fullest potential, she can use it for longer. Example - She can make herself invisible to one specific person even though she's not actually invisible.
Her ather ability is "clone"...I'm not explaining this.
Vincent
He has the special ability of seeing the future. Once he activates the skill, he can see 10 different futures depending on what he does in each. He can see up to 5 minutes into the future and it happens instantaneous for him. The ability can only be used once every hour though.
His other ability is power...the one which basically works like how a Kamehameha would work.
And then there's Ayra
She has the special ability of "1000 year old war". For 1000 years, Titans in another world have been fighting, Ayra has the ability to mirror the damage that the Titans are doing other world at specific places.
So for example, lets say that a villain is standing in a place and in the other universe the Titan is swinging his axe or something, Arya can mirror the damage made by the Titan with the axe and target it at the villain as if the Titan was swinging the axe through the villain.
She also has the ability of "Mythical Companion" (I'll post the details after sending the message)
BUT
This is not why they're called the special team
They're usually out doing their own things, but if they meet up and do a special ritual, they can...do something I haven't thought of yet
.
Had to send these messages seperatelu because of Discord's dumb limit
He only speaks Korean
So he's Lady Raincorn?
These all sound interesting. My favourite's definitely Disconect.
Lady who????
Rainicorn sorry.
Thanks!
Disconnect reminds me of a similar arc I had planned for Evilectric, where he used his powers to transfer his consciousness into a robotic body when his human body was dying.
Uhh...something something...think alike
yeah sure
I kinda have some lore on my characters, but it's not really thought out, because I just kinda came up with it now
Anything is worth sharing if you want to
Okay:
First is the Fire/Ice guy. He is a fusion of two people: General Richard Slater, a military general and Andrew Smith, a small time thief. Andrew's friends dared him to sneak into the local army base and steal something, which he agreed to for the laughs. Inside was a machine that can harness the powers of fire and ice. Andrew was then caught by General Slater, whom he engaged in a fight in. During this fight, the machine accidently got triggered and both Andrew and General Slater got caught in the explosion. They merged together into one being. General Slater, comprising the right half, gained the ability to control fire. He can set his entire half body on fire, shoot fire balls and fire blasts and create heatwaves. Andrew, comprising the left half, gained the ability to control ice. He can turn his entire half body into pure ice, shoot ice balls and ice blasts and create cold spells. Each half is controlled independently, but are unable to separate. Whenever they try to speak, it sounds like two people speaking over each other. The fusion also fucked with their psyches, driving both of them insane. They gained the name ||Cryoflame|| as a direct result. They can also withstand extreme temperatures on either end of the spectrum. Their split personaity prevents them from being mind controlled.
Next is Vampierre. Pierre Bastille was a ordinary man living in 17th century France who was set to be executed via guillotine during the French Revolution for a small crime he committed (petty theft). When the blade hit his head, he survived. This is when his powers first manifested. As a vampire, he can turn himself into a bat, merge with shadows and turn other people into vampires by biting them. He also follows other vampire rules, such as not entering a building without being invited in, avoiding direct sunlight and garlic. Although, in actuality, he is not actually bound by these rules and only believes that he is due to his severe social awkwardness and from reading Bram Stoker's Dracula. He is immortal, but unlike wizards, can be killed via a wooden stake to the heart. Since he isn't evil, no one has attempted to kill him since the guillotine.
Vampires? Sounds awesome
-# my friend has been trying to get me to watch twilight and now I'm seeing vampire stuff everywhere
I like both concepts, one more than the other because im biased towards cool things
my friend has been trying to get me to watch twilight and now I'm seeing vampire stuff everywhere
Oh yeah, since Vampierre is non-human, he can't be mind controlled
If only Twilight was this watchable
I figured
I don't have any more lore rn.
Trying to think up a surname for Elaine and Claire though.
Also
Disconnect isn't part of the special team, he was just determined to find and recruit them which automatically made him their leader
makes sense
Coming up with names is already hard enough
Whatever name I come up with is Claire's name. Elaine took it in the marriage to erase any trace of her former identity.
As one does
I think in Botswana I can literally change my last name without needing to marry someone
In my universe, Elaine can also get her name changed anytime. However, she is in hiding from Unity so she's obviously too scared to make herself known on any government form. Plus she's in love with Claire anyway, so she feels comfortable taking her name.
Wouldn't you need to go through the government eitherway?
Unless this world works differently
Their ceremony was private
i haven't really thought much of it
actually yeah
No like, changing someone's legal last name still requires you to go through government stuff
that's how Unity was able to capture Claire, because they left the confines of the forest to get married, long enough for her to locate them
again, haven't thought much of it. besides it's not important
Works lore-wise
Also (just thought of this now), but during the final battle with Unity (this is in the timeline where they're aware of Hocus Pocus' vision), Unity affects both Emily and Claire with the Love is Blind curse
Also
Can I suggest writing down the timeline of events down on a note taking app or website like Milanote
Makes it easier to remember specific details of something you wrote a while back
I constantly reference my notes of abilities and how they work because that's too much detail to remember.
I think that's a new one
no i've used it before
Looks like not enough
Tho the opportunity wouldn't present itself in a regular convo
yeah
anyway i'll look into it
i don't really have a proper timeline yet. just scattered ideas
On the topic of keying story's together, i want to tie all my character stories into one big arc
The Lunar Arc, at the end something happens that changes the whole world that leads into the next Arc
I already know the concept of the next Arc which is a bad thing cuz I haven't finished fleshing out this one
After Unity's defeat, Elaine and Claire look into each other's eyes (or eye in Elaine's case), and realise they're looking at a stranger. Yeah, they still recognise each other, but the love they had for each other had vanished. Hocus Pocus explained the Love is Blind curse to them and offered to remove it for them (wizards can remove curses). However, they refused, saying they wanted to regain their love by themselves. So, they both put on blindfolds (Elaine removing her eyepatch to put hers on) in order to be able to fall in love with each other again, and over the next few months, helped each other survive. Elaine used her powers for help sometimes. Eventually, when they felt ready, they sat in front of the lake, and took off each other's blindfolds simultaneously and looked into each other's eyes in order to see if they could lift the curse and remain in love. ||And they did.|| ||And the very first thing that happened after they got to see each other again was that Claire put an eyepatch on Elaine's face, telling her that it was who she fell in love with, which makes Elaine euphoric.||
I mean, it's always a good idea to work backwards ig
I had to reread what the love is blind curse side-effects are because I vaguely remembered mentioning death but I must have been mistaken.
I wanted to say, "so they're so confident that they'll ridk their life's for this"
But thank god that's not what the curse stated
No. Basically as long as they can see, they cannot fall in love
and any love that already existed ceases to exist
Ahhh
Also, my phone is dying so I should probably charge it and go to sleep
Its at 4% rn
So, his name's Tyler, and he's some 15 year old kid who lives alone with his aunt. His mother died when he was really young, and his father was a local military general, so was usually away most of the time, but always looked after his son whenever he could. Anyway, one day, due to unknown reasons ||(I haven't thought of any)||, Tyler loses his hearing and goes completely deaf. However, his hearing was fully restored whenever his vision was obstructed. Tyler's aunt let his father know of his son's sudden deafness and how that blinding him seemed to restore it. His father suggested he go to the military base as there was a doctor there who specialised in neural surgery before becoming a military doctor, so he might be able to see what neurological link was causing Tyler's condition.
In that same facility, there was a scientist building a robot.
Tyler met the doctor while in the hospital bed who explained to him, his father and his aunt what the procedure was going to be. He was going to look at Tyler's brain and try and work out what his condition was and hopefully find a way to fix it. The doctor bandaged Tyler's eyes shut as he wanted to see how that was causing him to be able to hear. Before the surgery began, Tyler's father was notified of a breach in the facility, leaving the room. A few moments later, an explosion swept across the facility, killing everyone inside, except Tyler, who was only injured instead, and the robot.
The robot, though powered on and fully functioning, lacked two vital things: a name and a purpose. The scientist building it died in the explosion before he could programme that in. The robot, not knowing what to do, began wandering the facility in search of life, and found Tyler. He saw a young boy lying there, his eyes bandaged and burns all over his body from the explosion, some hot, some cold. Tyler had only just woke up from the anaesthesia at this point, and was confused when he heard the voice of the robot. For some reason, the voice was really loud to him, which caused him to cover his ears in pain, only for his burns to hurt him instead. He went to remove the bandages from his eyes, but found it too painful to do so. The robot explained to him that it was too dangerous to stay there and they should leave. Tyler, not knowing the robot was a robot, asked if he worked at the military, to which the robot responded that he didn't know. As they were leaving, the robot noticed part of the facility was on fire and part had been frozen. The rest completely destroyed. Once they got outside, the robot noticed the burns on Tyler's body and felt obligated to treat them, not knowing why. By this point, Tyler had fully regained consciousness (he was still groggy from the anaesthetic earlier). He told the robot about his condition as it was tending to his burns. He asked the robot if it could remove the bandages covering his eyes as everything had suddenly gotten way louder and it was starting to hurt. Plus with his hands badly burnt and now heavily bandaged by the robot, he couldn't do it himself. The robot complied and unwrapped Tyler's eyes. As soon as light hit his retinas, his hearing went completely, but he was shocked by what he saw: everything. He could see really far, through objects, and he saw a robot standing in front of him, which freaked him out. He then looked over and saw the military facility he was just in, now reduced to flames and frost, not knowing that his father was the one responsible for this whole mess. ||Yes, his father is General Richard Slater aka Cryoflame.||
Does the robot have anything more to do with the plot?
It travels with Tyler for a bit, but then gets killed by Cryoflame.
Also, I forgot to say that the explosion affected the machine that was hooked up to Tyler's brain during the surgery, causing a surge of electricity to go to this brain, and that's what caused him to gain super sight/hearing.
Makes sense
I came up with this during work. Basically Tyler doesn't know that his father has become a monster. He learns to harness his powers and just travels across the land hoping to find life as the explosion destroyed everything near him
He must have some sort of invulnerability to survive an explosion like that 😭
I'm still trying to figure that out, but yes
anyway, he finds a shop that sells noise cancelling headphones and sleepmasks and uses them to help with his powers. the sleepmask prevents him from seeing, and the headphones help dampen sound (think the ones they use for construction). he can still hear through them. they just help reduce the level of noise to a more bearable level
I hope he had cash after the explosion
the first place he went was back to his aunt's place, which was way out of reach of the explosion to see if she was there. he didn't know she died in the explosion
so he was able to get money from there
Tough break
He is losing in life in most aspects
yeah he's not doing so good
Usually when you lose something, you gain a good super power
But he gained one of the worst
Eat your heart our spiderman, because my boy Tyler has it way worse
i mean he has superman level sight/dolores from encanto level hearing, but not at the same time
With a super power usefulness is key
he's able to use it to survive
much like how elaine's ability to speak to animals helped her survive
I mean, yeah
For the time being, but as soon as he enters the city or somewhere safe, it's gonna be annoying
oh definitely
Just write.
Start writing.
After many workshops one thing I always hear is write every day. 10 mins. Also, read. Read what you like to get inspiration of the type of writing you want to do.
@solemn crest lore time
Okay new characters
First is the Crow. They're a supervillain that wears a plague doctor outfit and has the ability to command corvids (crows, ravens, magpies, etc) also can fuse with the shadows and fly. Completely mute ||non-human, but is actually a bunch of crows in disguise that came across an artifact that links their minds||
Next is King Rí, a king (shocking). I don't have any lore for him, other than the fact that Rí in Irish means king, so his name is King King
I love the Crow, interesting concept
thanks
@solemn crest Evilectric has the ability to convert his body into pure electricity and travel through the stratosphere, however this requires a lot of power and he typically only does this if he's enraged
Cool :o
What's this movie
Hulk
Ah
Also, didn't you say you were 21 last year? Now you're saying you're 22? Pick one
What's next, next year you're gonna say you're 23
Basically the guy becoming electricity is Hulk's dad
I was 21 yesterday
Exactly, now you're 22??? Make it make sense
I watched like 10 minutes of hulk one time in 2020 or something
I didn't know that Hulk had an electrical villain (I think that's what's happening)
The villain isn't actually electrical. He has the ability to absorb anything he touches, and is absorbing electricity in this scene
Ahhh
Basically, he's trying to force his son to turn into the Hulk so he can absorb his DNA
Makes sense
Sort of
He wants Hulk's power for himself, and believes he's entitled to it as it was his genes that caused Hulk to be born
I wrote a short story that for once doesn't take place in my fictional universe, and it's really bad. I spent like 20 minutes writing this, because it popped into my head. tw: ||self harm, mutilation, suicide, transphobia||
@solemn crest so not much lore, but the character is a god who was sent to the earth for some reason and his only defining characteristic so far that i've come up with is that he's selectively mute
Selectively mute?
Chooses not to speak
if he does, he could potentially destroy the world
Ohhhhh
he also poses as a human so that no one finds out he's a god
How much power does he have?
A fuck ton
I feel like there are easier ways than posing as a human if he can just make himself to not be seen 🤔 maybe have limitations to force him to do it
He needs to interact with others in order to gather information, but has to do so without the ability to speak himself
So he's not omnipotent 👀 he's just really powerful
He doesn't have all powers
Why does he need to gather information?
I haven't thought that far ahead
Ah okie
But everyone around him just sees him as that friendly guy who can't say a word
Makes sense
i guess
he mainly communicates with gestures and expressions
one of the rules of being a god in my universe is that gods cannot reveal any information to the earth however little, so any form of spoken, written or visual (ie sign language) communication are forbidden and they must find other ways to communicate that doesn't give anything away
So restrictive for a God
That's basically their only limitation
well that and no killing
they can freely use their unique powers so long as no one catches them
What happens when they're caught?
they are punished and stripped of their godhood
The worst curse of them all...being mortal
If they are caught breaking their vow of silence, not only is their godhood stripped, but they become permanently mute
Who's even responsible for taking their power away from them
So the what if someone in the council breaks the rules?
they are punished in kind and someone else is elected to take their place
also their memories are completely wiped so they can't reveal any information post excommunication
There's a good video I'll like to link about writing
It's not a short video but not long as per say
It's around 40 minutes long iirc
I'll look for it and send it here
The first 500 people to use my link will get a 1 month free trial of Skillshare https://skl.sh/scrit09241
Before people get mad that once again I have just used Pomni for the clickbait, the new episode of Amazing Digital Circus literally came out yesterday and if it had come out sooner I would've 100% used it as an example of good world buildin...
I think it would be beneficial to anyone
i'll look into it
also i have another character, but i have no lore for them apart from design
I feel like the first one is still valid
anyway
i'm sorry about this, but it's another eyepatch character
however, their eyepatch is actually their hand, which is permanently fused to their face
I do not envy them
Oooh
Meanwhile I'm going to be writing down my characters and their abilities on a spreadsheet
Basically he's a battle hardened king who (for reasons yet unthought of) had his left hand permanently fused over his left eye
(not on purpose obvs)
Can't he get surgery to remove it?
No
:(
I mean, he could, but he chooses not to
That's not very smart of him to do >:(
He's a centuries old king who's unfamiliar with modern medicine and believes that he deserves this as punishment
He is, but was cursed with immortality
maths server
I'm swipe typing with one hand 😓
What's the other hand doing?
Holding me tablet
But yeah, i'd describe him as tragic villain
like he used to be ruthless but is now suffering the consequences of his actions
and his downfall happens before the main timeline
so we only see a broken shell of a once powerful man
Intriguing
He has no powers, and his primary weapon is a sword.
It's going to be hard to fight with a single hand
Also, I've split all my characters to function in three separate stories that all function in the same universe and timeline
I decided to not use Earth and just create a different planet
The three stories are titled Solar Eclipse, Special Heroes and Space Abyss
Space Abyss being the MAIN one
The Avengers of my universe
@solemn crest I came up with better lore for King Rí
I'm all ears 👀
he's frozen in time. a malevolent king frozen on his throne as punishment for his crimes. His hand covers the hole where his eye was stabbed, his other hand gripping his sword. He is unable to move a muscle, hard as stone, but he is still alive. He can still see and hear and speak. And he cannot die. Cursed to watch over the decays of his kingdom which fell under his rule. For all eternity.
i know
What they did probably wasn't that bad
Nobody deserves a fate like that
oh he was a monster
i need help writing characters i wrote an amazing magic system and world and i don't have good enough characters to go in the world
@solemn crest They're twins named Rhys and Nate, who are both trans guys. Their parents are very unaccepting. Unfortunately, they were involved in an accident which resulted in Nate's death and Rhys getting badly injured. However, the accident gave Rhys the ability to communicate with the dead, including his late brother, who appears to him as a ghost. However, when he tries to tell his parents this as he's recovering, they immediately disown him, calling him schizophrenic and saying that he needs to stop these delusional thoughts now that his """sister""" is dead. They also believed that Nate indocrinated Rhys into becoming trans as Nate came out first, but that wasn't the case. They had Rhys sent off to a psychiatric ward to "fix" him (conversion therapy) and there he meets our favourite straitjacket wearing psychic who still doesn't have a name, but his powers allow him to sense Nate's presence, confirming in Rhys' mind that he is not insane.
Jesus Christ
Why are all of these so tragic 😭
because i am filled with sadness, hatred and despair i'm bad at coming up with happy shit (well, lucid dreamer doesn't have any trauma shit i guess)
fair
I guess I just have a negative brain
idk
I guess my reason for giving all of my characters trauma or some form of disability is as a motive for their actions, but that kinda feels shit, but I can't stop myself
Ig that makes sense
Actually Hocus Pocus doesn't really have major trauma either. I guess he might have something due to have lived for so long, but nothing major
All I really have is Elaine, Rhys and Nate having gender dysphoria and unsupportive backgrounds, Elaine being indoctrinated into a cult, Evilectric being hunted down by said cult, Tyler becoming blind/deaf and straitjacket guy having body dysmorphia
Only one of my characters has a traumatic backstory
And that's Eric. The kid that had his parents killed
I don't think any of my characters are orphans. Just disowned
Are there not laws in your world to prevent minors getting disowned and having nowhere to live
Because it seems like a real problem
Remember that most of the world is being brainwashed by Unity, so they're kinda busy with that.
Also, the only character that is explicitly disowned is Rhys, but he's sent to a psychiatric ward.
Elaine is sent to the cult, but runs away of her own accord.
And Tyler's dad is a supervillain incapable of remembering who he is.
I'd say that my world seems better to live in but that would be a lie
And here's the thing
After Unity's defeat and the world is back to being independent
Their memories are still gone
Unity erased them
All they remember is their time in the cult
It's a post-apocalyptic world in which only a few people remember what it was like before
and those few people are outlaws because everyone believes they're the villains, thanks to Unity
||Even though Unity is dead, and they can now think for themselves, most of them still believe her||
Oof
||It's like Mysterio from Spider-Man: Far From Home||
Somehow your world is still better to live in than mine 😭
Somehow
Also to make it even worse
Elaine and Claire's forest burns down so they are forced out of their safe space
Not sure if I'll follow up on this one
But everyone sees Evilectric as a criminal/supervillain
And while he's initially okay with it, as he genuinely enjoys fighting other supes, after Unity's defeat, it genuinely makes her depressed
So they decide to travel to other dimensions to be in a world where no one knows them
Since when was dimension hopping an option
I didn't know Rick Sanchez existed in your universe /j
idk the technology exists somewhere
Also also
Elaine and Claire unofficially adopt Tyler. Not as their child as he's only a few years younger than them, but since he has no home to go to, he just stays with them
Also, me saying this reminded me that there is a character named Unity in Rick and Morty that does the exact same thing as the Unity in your world but taking over someone's mind is gross and instead of Unity telling them what to do. Unity just sees and does stuff through the person she's controlling
I had no idea.
I stopped watching Rick and Morty after like season 3
I remember you telling me
||The Justin Roiland situation kinda rubbed me the wrong way||
Also, the episode is in Season 2 iirc
yeah i don't remember it
Justin Roiland never wrote for the show after Season 3 but fair
literally the only episodes i remember are interdimensional cable and the wedding
corn on the cob planet is so fucking funny
Anyway, if you want a better science fiction show, watch Futurama
I'll try watching it but I'm super picky about what I watch
If the jokes aren't as good as my standard or it's too serious Im most likely not going to like it
There is one episode that is kinda ||transphobic|| though, but other than that, good show
Oh it is not too serious
And what is your standard?
Good jokes
yeah it has those in spades
I'd give an example but youve never watched most shows I've watched
Let me think of a good joke from Futurama
Also, is it serialised or episodic?
There's a scene where they're having an inspection done and the inspector asks Fry why he has a cap full of yoghurt, and he says "Well, it used to be milk, but time makes fools of us all"
serialised. there is some continuity, but you don't need it to enjoy the episodes
you can literally just throw on any episode
Some continuity as in? I need to watch it in chronological order or if I start from anywhere I'd be good?
Ahh
They make references to previous episodes, but you don't need to have watched the previous episode in order to fully enjoy the new one
each episode has its own distinct plot
I guess I'll have to watch all 14 (I think) seasons of Futurama soon
So like South Park?
I'll take that as a yes
sure
like the only thing you'd really need to know is who the main characters are and their personalities, but you can gather that from watching the show
and also the fact that the show takes place 1000 years into the future
I know a bit about Fry
He got transported to the future by a machine or something
I've seen a few clips on YouTube Shorts
Basically he gets cryogenically frozen on December 31 1999 and wakes up on January 1 3000
I misremembered
Just searched up and there aren't that many episodes
I could finish this show in a month
@solemn crest
so, it's not a new character per say
but
I've been thinking
I need a title for my story
I have the subtitle though
A tale of fear (referring to Elaine), hatred (referring to Evilectric) and loss (referring to Tyler)
I have a few ideas for the title
Blind Memories and Shattered Memories come to mind, but I'm not sure
Actually put in thought to it
I strongly lean towards "Shattered"
Basically I want to have it be told from their perspectives before it merges towards the end.
Elaine's story is her trying to regain her lost memories after having escaped the cult, and meeting Claire and all that.
Evilectric's story is him getting screwed over at every turn: getting possessed by the Soul Demon and being stalked by the cult, causing him to become a supervillain out of pure hatred and a desire to be left alone.
And Tyler's story is him struggling to adapt to his new powers/disabilities while trying to find his father (he doesn't know his dad is Cryoflame)
Interesting. Thanks
All makes sense
For me I decided to seperate them into their own titles before they merge in the main storyline
If I do that, then Shattered Memories: A Tale of Fear will be Elaine's title
But I like it as an overall title since the cult is a force over everything
Yeah
It makes sense for the universe you're writing
Or creating since writing hasn't really started
For mine, switching from a story to another wouldn't really make sense and only confuse people reading
@solemn crest I have the biggest lore drop coming your way later when I'm done work.
Lore about Claire.
I'll be waiting 👀
Alright, are you ready?
As ready as I'll ever be
So, previously established lore that you need to remember:
-
Elaine escapes from the cult and ends up deep inside the forest. Remember, Elaine can only remember her final day in the cult as her memory was constantly being erased.
-
Evilectric stole the nature amulet while trying to prevent the Soul Demon's return, and replaced it with a replica.
Now for the juicy bit.
Claire is an only child that lives in the forest with her grandmother, Lucille. Her mother died in childbirth and her father left her soon after (I'll explain why in a bit). Claire has no superpowers, however, her grandmother does, possessing nature based powers. Her grandmother is the protector of the forest and keeper of the nature amulet. The forest was protected by their family for generations; the oldest child each having nature based powers would take the mantle and the amulet as soon as the previous protector died. They were appointed personally by Hocus Pocus, who planted and enchanted the forest himself. This was fine up until Claire was born. Due to unknown reasons, she never gained any nature powers, or any superpowers whatsoever, which terrified Lucille as who would protect the forest after she has died. Her daughter (Claire's mother), who had nature based powers, was supposed to be the protector of the forest, but she died in child birth. And Claire's father left them as he didn't believe in this superpower bullshit. The nature amulet (and all other amulets) only work for people with superpowers, so once Lucille dies, the forest would begin to lose its protection. So, in a panic, she contacted Hocus Pocus, seeking advice. He looked at a vision inside his crystal ball, and told this to Lucille: ||"A one eyed girl born on the eve of December, with the power to speak to fauna, will become the protector of the forest."|| He also told Lucille that Claire was to never leave the forest as she would never be able to return.
Fast forward to Elaine living in the forest, and Claire having found her (you already know this bit). Claire brings Elaine back to her house so she would have somewhere warm to sleep that night. Elaine met Claire's grandmother for the first time, and when Lucille saw her, she was shocked to realise the prophecy had come true. She took Elaine aside and told her about the prophecy and that she was to be the next protector of the forest. She handed her the nature amulet ||or what she thought to be the nature amulet as she had no idea the real one was stolen|| and told her that once she passes, the nature amulet would protect the forest through her, but that it, or Elaine, must never leave the forest, otherwise its protection diminishes. ||Now you may be wondering, if there's no nature amulet, how is the forest currently being protected? It's because Lucille is still alive. Once she dies, the forest's protection will start to diminish. Elaine does not become protector of the forest officially without the real nature amulet.||
After Lucille's death, Elaine was ready to take her mantle. She had been married to Claire for about a year at this point, and Claire knew that Elaine was going to be taking the role of protector, and was genuinely happy for her. She decided that she wanted to go out and celebrate, to which Elaine warned her it was dangerous, but she wasn't listening because she was intoxicated ||if you're wondering how they got alcohol despite not being allowed to leave the forest, Lucille made wine in her spare time using her own grown grapes||. Drunk, Claire stepped towards the boundary of the forest, and was instantly captured by Unity's mind control. Elaine was shocked for two reasons. 1. The forest should have protected Claire as she was still inside it. And 2. Why wasn't she being mind controlled? ||She didn't realise she had immunity||. Just then, a huge fire burst through the forest, and Elaine barely escaped with her life. When she looked back, she saw her home destroyed, bound in flames. She looked down at the nature amulet (which again, she didn't know was fake) and blamed herself for failing to protect the forest and broke down crying.
At that point, Evilectric appeared, trying to escape the cult's clutches (again) and saw Elaine. They realised she wasn't being brainwashed and told her that there was only one safe space to go, so they supersped her to Hocus Pocus' house to explain the situation. Elaine, still crying, explained to Hocus Pocus that she had failed as protector and that she shouldn't have been allowed to take it up in the first place. That's when Hocus Pocus realised that the nature amulet she possessed was fake. He then immediately put two and two together and realised that Evilectric was the cause of all of this, as he had exorcised the Soul Demon from them years prior. Enraged, Elaine lashed out at Evilectric, blaming them for her wife's kidnapping.
Oh it's very doomed
Lucille made wine in her spare time
How much spare time did she have???? Making wine from scratch is a really long process
tbf she lived until she was 97 and she never left the forest, so she had a lot of spare time
Fair
but yeah
i came up with all that this morning
oh yeah
they also needed to find all the amulets again (which Evilectric didn't know where they ended up) in order to restore balance and defeat unity
which bit?
Why they need the amulets to defeat unity
But I'm sure you'll explain that in the future
Basically Unity's plan is to have her mind take over the entire world.
Howver, the places the amulets protect are immune to her mind contol.
However, since the forest was compromised, that means the other sanctuaries are soon to fall as well.
So, they needed to find the amulets and give them back to their rightful protectors
If Unity can't take over those areas, then she can't take over the world and her power isn't absolute
Which makes her weak enough to be defeated by a team of superheroes, which includes Elaine, Evilectric, Hocus Pocus, Tyler, Vampierre, Lucid Dreamer, Rhys, Nate, the armless psychic and a few other characters I'm probably forgetting
I feel like violence would solve this problem faster and more efficiently, but that's just me
if unity takes over the entire world, she cannot be defeated
the sanctuaries need to be restored
also, if you're wondering about the forest, Hocus Pocus begins to plant a new one and Elaine helps it to grow using her powers gained from the amulet
it's a lot smaller than the old one
She cant be killed? Is she immortal after possessing so many people?
but it's enough to ward off unity
effectively yes
also mind controlling, not possessing
she basically becomes a god
Wubstep don't make no sense
how?
Does mind control give the user a less chance at dying?
Not necessarily.
Because she has control over pretty much everyone, save for like one or two people, she is effectively immortal.
If, let's say Evilectric, who can't be brainwashed, tried to kill her, they'd be outnumbered by her subjects, and likely killed
she can still die, it's just very fucking hard to get to her. and once she does die, she'll find some way to keep the world in check.
Couldn't Hocus Pocus do it because he's a strong wizard?
He can't kill people
Don't we all
also, the amulets are nature, fire, water, ice and electric
ity*
what
What
what does ity* mean
Electricity
Ohh
Now that makes sense
yeah
i still haven't come up with the protectors for the other amulets
no Evilectric is not the protector of the electric amulet
I asked all my questions
good
if i think of anything else, i'll post it
that was the biggest lore drop i've come up with in months jesus christ
And I should probably think of the full story for my world
Haven't touched it in a long while
Should make everything make sense and not spread out like it is
i get that
Yeah
I've been busy...doing stuff
So I never had the chance, now I'm free from that stuff...mostly
So I can start thinking about stuff
@solemn crest i might start writing the first chapter of shattered memories later. will send when i do
👀
i think i have the structure in mind i want
plus a secret second part
https://www.wattpad.com/story/398580602-shattered-memories-part-1-destiny @solemn crest Let me know what you think
I like how real it feels
Well it works I think
you think?
i'll be honest
i don't know what it's like to be in a cult. i don't know if what i'm writing reflects reality. i'm just going off shit i saw online about cults
It is what I think
Why would I say something I don't think
because you know

And Robert Harris doesn't know how it's like to be a Machine learning expert but he wrote about it anyway
A lot of writers write about stuff they haven't even experienced but if it's convincing enough for the reader, it doesn't matter
I bet most readers haven't been in a cult as well
i'm also not an experienced writer
this is new territory for me
i just have a really active imagination
Honestly same
I'm in a writing server so it's easy to just go in there and ask for help
Ask for critique
And there are a lot of published writers on there that are willing to give you advice
Trying to improve is the only thing that matters
i guess
i've posted this in a few servers that have a creative writing channel
as well as sent to a few friends
i have one friend whose just as invested into this as yourself
How dare they, I'm the number one fan!!
https://www.wattpad.com/myworks/398580602-shattered-memories-part-1-destiny @solemn crest @plush sequoia Chapters 3 and 4 now available
@solemn crest So, remember before how I said Evilectric wears an eyepatch sometimes? Well, changing that to they wear one all the time and the reason is because after being possessed by the Soul Demon, it left a mark on their eye which is permanent, so they wear an eyepatch over it as they don't want people knowing they were possessed by a demon. Basically they have the eye of the demon or whatever it's called
What about the mask?
That's part of their supervillain costume
basically, they get possessed, blinded for two years, demon gets exorcised, but its mark still remains so they choose to cover it with an eyepatch to hide it, but over that period of time being possessed become more and more hateful, so becomes a full fledged supervillain with a hoodie and a metal mask as their costume until they help defeat unity
Ahhh
Makes sense
so now i have 2 eyepatch ocs
@solemn crest do you want more lore my brain decided to come up with today that may or may not be an actual reflection on how i view myself?
👀 definitely
But I'm about to do something so I'll read it after im done
Well you'll just have to wait because I have to get back to work in 3 minutes and would have forgotten about this had I not just texted it there
Okay, here it is
Waiting
sorry was busy
okay here it is for real this time
Despite appearing tough on the outside, Evilectric is extremely vulnerable and scared on the inside
Like me
yeah
basically they see themselves as a failure
With regards to the cult, Unity cannot mind control them directly, so instead she keeps sending her slaves after them, which they just keep fighting off at first since they genuinely like fighting, but over time, it starts to get to them and they just want to be left alone
Then the Soul Demon happened
Remember, the reason Evilectric was possessed by the Soul Demon in the first place was because they were trying to prevent its return, but ultimately failed.
So they were forced to wear a blindfold for two years because otherwise the Soul Demon would have taken over their body.
But the thing is is that even though they still had control over their body, the Soul Demon was still inside them, and they could hear it constantly.
So for two years, they couldn't see and had a literal demon telling them that they failed by getting possessed, things like that. It's like how your brain tells you negative stuff. This was that, just 10 times worse and the fact that it was from a literal internal demon
And even after getting the demon exorcised, they were left with a demonic mark over their eye, which every time they looked at it reminded them that they were nothing more but a failure
So they decide to cover it with an eyepatch so no one would find out the truth
And the cult had painted them as a supervillain and spending two years alone in the dark with nothing but their own thoughts and a literal demon drove them more and more hateful, so they snapped and became a full on supervillain: Evilectric, a name the cult had given them; a name they despised
So they begin committing crimes and what not, because everyone was already brainwashed anyway, and they knew they could beat them anyway, so it really didn't matter
And they hid their face behind a mask, not to hide their identity since Unity already knew it, but because they felt ashamed to show their face with or without the eyepatch. Also as a fuck you to Unity
It wasn't until Unity mind controlled Claire and Evilectric met Elaine that they realised that they really didn't want to do harm and just broke down.
They had only done it because they were hateful for all the shit that had happened
They realised that even though their mind couldn't be affected directly, it could be affected indirectly, and that they were way more vulnerable then they realised.
On top of that, similar to Elaine, Evilectric has gender dysphoria
and then after unity is defeated, they don't know what their purpose in life is
To smash that like button and ring that bell icon!
also
i finally thought up a name for the straitjacket guy wiith psychic abilities
If you didn't get the reference
Well, don't just stand there
Tell me!
S
Basically it's not their birth name. That is unknown
Makes sense
They were put into the facility at a very young age and experimented on
S was a placeholder name they were given, like a serial number or smth
if that makes sense
And the doctors there were extremely abusive to him
They were sold off or just stolen from his parents?
i haven't decided yet
I'm not rooting for the doctors, but don't know basic manipulation techniques
but after he develops his powers, they were the reason he's forced to wear a straitjacket
because they instilled the idea into him that his powers don't work with his arms free
that same facility is the place Rhys is sent after his brother is killed
and they run it like a conversion camp for him
he's forced to wear a vr headset that is playing religious propaganda and sounds that's to convince him he's a girl, while being loud enough that he's unable to hear nate
on top of that they are monitoring his powers, like S
they just won't allow him to use them
since his parents paid a lot of money to make him "normal" again
I feel like there are better ways to go about this
I mean, I'm not saying these are morally correct. But these scientists should find better ways to get people to be on their side and not make the people they're holding hate them
they are literally supposed to be horrible people
also more rhys and nate lore that i came up with recently
The explosion that killed Nate and gave Rhys his powers actually badly injured Rhys, in particular, he broke his arm and leg
How is someone a horrible person and also dumb. Pick a struggle 😔
however, his parents refused to allow him to recover as they send him straight to the facility to cure his transness and the fact that he could see his brother's ghost
so his arm and leg never heal properly
and then they need to be amputated because they can't be saved
however, he can't afford it
so he's forced to go around in literal agonising pain on top of the mental anguish he's facing
spoiler, he does eventually get freed from the facility along with S
Jesus Christ
but while he's moving, he's forced to use a cane and wear a sling
also keep in mind that his superpower is literally being able to see the dead
he wants nothing more than to join his brother in the afterlife, but is only staying alive because of his brother
in the end he is able to get his mangled limbs removed and get robotic prosthetics
i really need to stop writing depressing, disabled and dysphoric characters
You're scaring me
my mind is not a fun place
the only thing i'm struggling to figure out is how to use rhys and nate in the final battle against unity since they do play a role in that
I wouldn't imagine that it's easy figuring that out when one of the characters is badly hurt
and the other is literally a ghost
Godspeed because I have no idea how you're going to do it
2 slight changes:
1: rhys' arm became paralyzed as a result of it breaking and negligence to heal it, hence why he wears a sling
- instead of a cane, he uses a wheelchair. he is capable of standing and walking short distances, but typically uses the wheelchair. since he can't reach one of the wheels, it's usually pushed by nate and since most people can't see him, it looks like the wheelchir is moving by itself (it's a manual chair, not electric)
I wonder how Ghosts work in your universe
So they exist and can interact with objects or is it just this special case?
Is ghost capitalised because of our resident pubquiz spook?
It's capitalised because autocorrect recognised I write Ghost capitalised a lot so ig it just fixes it for me
That or I capitalised it subconsciously
Ghosts can interact with physical objects in my world, but they can choose to pass through them as well. So Nate is holding onto the handles of Rhys' wheelchair, but could put his hands through them should he wish.
So what's stopping Nate from going to Unity and killing her
He just grabs a knife and kills her
And since he doesn't technically have a mind, he can't be mind controlled
Because he doesn't yet know of her existence until after meeting Elaine, Evilectric and Hocus Pocus.
And because Evilectric and Elaine have the most reason for wanting her dead
I feel like at least one ghost must know of Unity's existence
Yeah, but Nate doesn't know any other ghosts
Makes sense
he's literally never left Rhys' side
they're only on the team because they had yet to be brainwashed
well rhys anyway
Makes sense
I just thought of something funny I could do
So you know how most of my characters have some form of tragedy, injury, disability, are literally homeless, etc...?
I wish I didn't
I'm sorry
but anyway
I'm thinking of making Lucid Dreamer the complete opposite of all that
He's a multi-billionaire
So he's evil? /j
No, he's actually genuinely a good person
he uses his money for good
and his powers
owns and runs several charities
is a certified doctor
and when he's asleep, a literal superhero
I forgot his power low-key
Whenever he's asleep, his dreams manifest into reality
so a dream version of him appears as a superhero with whatever powers he can dream of
but everything he dreams of disappears as soon as he wakes up
and the level of his power depends on his sleep level and on how far away his dream self is from his body
Makes sense
he's also the team medic when he joins Elaine's team to fight unity
since he's a doctor
He's also the person who would give Rhys his prosthetics so he could move normally again
well that was the plan anyway
then something happened
but i won't say what
👀
you'll just have to wait for it to come out
@solemn crest sorry changing lore slightly again. rhys doesn't use a wheelchair and can walk, but still has a paralyzed arm
You've changed your lore less time than a lot of writers tbh
yeah ig. i just have ideas for the character and i kinda need him to be able to walk.
also he gets a sword
Sword cool
and nate acts as a tactician for him
since he can call shots without anyone hearing him
Makes sense
@solemn crest
So, you know my story Shattered Memories and how it's about a bunch of people trying to stop an evil cult leader from trying to mind control the world?
Ofcourse
Here's the thing: That's not the whole story. That's only the beginning.
So, they end up killing Unity, but it comes at a devestating cost.
Before she dies, she does one final mind wipe of everyone under her control and brainwashes everyone into believing the heroes are wanted criminals. So when she dies, everyone is free from her mind control, but they have no memories. The only thing they "know" is that the heroes are evil and must be captured or killed immediately.
So, they're forced to flee since everyone is after them.
And it becomes a DND like story where they're journeying through the land trying to find a way to restore the world's memories.
Also Unity had a bunch of history books and records burnt down so the past would be destroyed
I see
Also, one of the affected is Claire
Also remember that all of the heroes (excluding Elaine) can remember the past. They just can't relay that information back to the affected because they'll just try and kill them.
Or in Hocus Pocus' case, just not listen
since he can't die
What does not dying have to do with this
Also, I'm struggling to think of an excuse to keep Evilectric in the party when they can literally just superspeed around the world looking for the answer
They want to kill the heroes, and he's the only one of the heroes who can't die
but they don't know that
also ||lucid dreamer|| dies
Maybe remove the superspeed
no
You have to make sacrifices for the story
well, it's one of their defining powers. if i removed it, i wouldn't do it permanently, but it'd have to be due to an injury or smth
also nate stays behind as a spy since no one can see him
So the main party now is Elaine, Evilectric, Hocus Pocus, Tyler, Rhys and S
Remind me
Why doesn't everyone else but Elaine, Evilectric and HP get affected by Unity's mind control
Because they lived far enough away from Unity that her mind control hadn't reached them yet. And Evilectric made a device that protected people from mind control so long as they weren't already affected, but they only had enough materials for a few, hence why they couldn't recruit every possible hero.
I see
Also a main reason why I need Evilectric to have superspeed is because they use it to find them.
so removing it later in the story i need to try and come up some lore for that
Or just break his leg
the question is how
they have fast reaction speed, so i need some way to catch them off guard
Yeah
another option is to drain them of their powers, but how would i do that and how would they function without their powers combat wise?
Steel pipe
because then the only people in the party with offensive powers would be hocus pocus and s
because elaine is non-violent, tyler is support and rhys only has one arm
i guess
but then if i remove their powers, they become susceptible to mind control
This is the worst superhero team
they're not meant to be the justice league
they were the only ones who weren't brainwashed
they're more of a dnd party than anything
a party of outcasts
Were there not any other heroes far away from Unity's reach? Or are all the othee heroes conveniently within her radius for brainwashing
Most of the heroes were already brainwashed before the story begins.
Her power was just growing slowly
And then with the ones who weren't affected, it was a matter of actually finding heroes. They didn't have a list on hand or anything. It was just "find anyone you can with powers"
actually

so much lore
