I found a workaround:

  1. Create a group with all entities that provide power output
  2. Create a template sensor that sums up the state values of all members of that group
  3. Profit!

What's missing: populate the group automatically. (I have no idea how to do that.)

At least makes easier to add entities via the UI this way

Well, it does not work via the UI (at least I don't know how to make it work via the UI).
But adding an entity to groups.yaml is fairly easy.
Still, I would love to find an automated way.
