Thanks for the pointer. I tried room-assistant on a Pi 4 once, since room-assistant was the only solution out there at the time that tracked regular BT, not just BTE. I never managed to get it to work.

I noticed that there are countless ESP32 BTE tracker projects out there and was hoping to find a "near consensus" solution for BLE-only on cheap ESP32 hardware that I can scatter like candy throughout the house. Without having to deploy multiple Pis per room to get the fine-grained BLE resolution that I am after.

But thanks for the reminder. I will take another look at room-assistant for regular BT. Perhaps this time I'll get it to work.
