Hmm, that's unexpected. Can you try running apk add gcc g++ so that package can build?

lapis topaz
#

ok

#

still the same

grim spade
#

I'll have to try this out myself then in the OS later today

#

What version are you running?

lapis topaz
#

core: core-2022.5.4, OS 7.6, Python 3.9.9

#

I took the backup on a rpi with a raspbee hat and attempted to restore on a x86 thin client. Both run HA OS

grim spade
#

Why not run the restore in the working environment?

lapis topaz
#

sorry what do you mean by workign env?

grim spade
#

You said you did a backup, right?

lapis topaz
#

yes

grim spade
#

Why not do the restore there as well?

lapis topaz
#

my objective is to migrate my entire system from a raspberry to the thin client . so I cannot use the Raspbee anymore (it's not a usb dongle but a board that fits on the raspberry GPIO's)

grim spade
#

Yeah, why not plug the sonoff into the pi and do the restore there?

#

The tools talk only to the Zigbee hardware, they have no interaction with HA

lapis topaz
#

ah ok so when I restore the fulll system backup to the thin client, and plug in the same usb stick, it should work?

#

after doing as you suggest of course

grim spade
#

Yeah the stick keeps the network settings, not the ha instance

#

You'll have to edit the radio info in .storage and then it'll start as if nothing changed

#

Make sure to unplug the raspbee after backing up

#

And don't use the network a lot between the backup and the restore

lapis topaz
#

ok I will give that a go. Thanks so much for your help!

#

and if you find out what the issue is with teh install I'm interested because I still would like to have the ability to backup and restore on teh new system

It looks like it runs but there's a traceback. Make sure ZHA isn't also running.

I had disabled it
