Actions arnt a setting though? They were already there?

actions are part of the in-app configuration. this is yaml to control it (so it doesn't require manual work on various devices)

ok, there may be a terminology difference here - the YAML to control the actions are defined as part of the automation- so the ability to do 'additional' stuff within iOS only, via the config.yaml, isnt really 'app control' as suggested, or likely needed?

"actions" are a concept in the ios app to expose buttons in widgets, watch, etc., which fire an event. the yaml here allows you define them in config rather than on device.

That doesnt make sense, sorry.
You cannot configure a device automation on the device as it were, but only on the server.
