Frigate Question

Hello there. I am new to HA. So far, I have it installed on a VM on a proxmox node. My node is running on a HP ProDesk 600 G6 Mini | i5 10500T. I’ve been able to set up a few smart switches and an outlet. Today, I was able to configure a Reolink Video Doorbell PoE into HA and into Frigate as the NVR.

My HA service is installed on the local proxmox drive which is a 1TB nvme ssd that has a few other services on it. I have another 4tb SSD installed in the node that I would like frigate to store my NVR data on.

My question is how would I best accomplish this? Thanks.

Where are you running Frigate? Is it as an App inside HAOS?
If so then you are likely better off moving it so that it is instead running on a separate VM/LXC. This will give you greater control over where you can store things.

Yes, it’s running in home assist. But that’s not a idea running as its own service

You can still connect the HA integration to it if its running else where. I previously ran HA and frigate on the same box. I ran HAOS on a VM and then used an LXC to run docker and ran Frigate under docker there. This also allowed me to share the iGPU to frigate.

Indeed, It is then easy enough to mount whatever FS you like to the LXC and then into the Docker container for frigate to use as storage.
