Genuine HA Green showing as "Container" installation? Missing Add-ons store.

Hi everyone! 👋 Need some advice regarding a newly purchased Home Assistant Green.

Out of the box, I noticed the Add-ons menu is completely missing from the Settings. When I checked Settings > About, the Installation Method is listed as Home Assistant Container (Core 2026.5.1), not HAOS as I expected for a Green box.

Here is my situation:

I want to install Tailscale for remote access but can't without the Add-on store.

I tried to SSH into the host to investigate, but it gives me Connection refused on port 22 (and I don't have the host root password anyway since it's a new unit).

My questions:

1. Is it possible for a genuine HA Green to ship with a Container setup instead of HAOS?

2. The Workaround: My main goal is to access HA remotely without Port Forwarding. Since I can't install the Tailscale add-on directly on the HA box right now, what's the best way to access it? Can I just run Tailscale on another device on the same LAN and use it as a Subnet Router?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I've attached a screenshot of my About page.

It is a bug, Power cycle it. (not just restarting home assistant)

Thanks for the tip! I just tried a full power cycle (unplugged the power cable, waited for a couple of minutes, and plugged it back in), but unfortunately, it didn't work. The Installation Method is still showing up as 'Home Assistant Container'. Any other ideas?

Thank you, Just to be 100% sure before I proceed with the USB recovery: If I create a Full Backup right now and download the .tar file to my Mac, will I be able to restore everything (all my Shelly automations, dashboards, and users) perfectly onto the fresh HAOS installation from the welcome screen?

Yes, You should also download the "Emergency Kit" from the backup settings which is a text file.
This includes your encryption key which you may need.

If you download the backup from the WebUI then it should automatically decrypt it for you but best to be sure in case you do need it.
