OK. looking for smarter people than myself.
I have the following fan. Is there a z-wave or zigbee board I can wire up to it and make it smart?

I have a simple fan that points at my network rack that I connected a smart plug to. I have the fan settings set to on and the smart plug turns on or off when i need it.

I'm striving to be able to have the ability to change fan speeds through Home Assistant on this particular fan. I also have a different fan blowing in my network rack connected to a smart plug 🙂

I asked AI. It stated that modifying this fan was danagerous. Should only use smart plug and the fan should remember last fan speed state

Opening any device is going to be "dangerous", at least from a liability standpoint.

But yeah, I would use a smart plug (I think Shelly makes a z-wave plug), and start researching replacements now with built in smarts so when this one eventually needs to be replaced, you won't be caught off guard
