What protocols do you have in your smarthome?
All I have is a couple of the old Logitech pop and philips hue lights which i think are Zigbee.... I will progressively be getting more kit and replacing the hues maybe with something else but we shall see.
If you have a Zigbee Mesh already then you could look at something like the Sonoff SNZB-01P I have some of those about the place.
Shelly make some buttons that are ZB and/or BLE.
If you want some wifi devices then there are things like the Apollo BTN-1 which do have a battery option but are perhaps better off hardwired.
There is a bunch of different buttons for different protocols and situaions. It really depends on what options are best for your specific use case.
International battery-powered variant: No battery included. Comes with battery-style case, but will need to source own battery with connector type PH 2.0, and dimensions cannot exceed 80mm x 30mm x 8mm The BTN-1 Macro Deck gives you four hot-swappable mechanical brown switches, white keycaps, and LEDs in front of each
Ah okay thank you. Will have a look into them. Do they have single buttons too?
The Apollo ones? No I don't think so. It is probably not worth making a single button ESP wifi device. most people use ZB or BLE for that kind of thing anyway.
Ah okay thank you will do some investigating. I did see a company called Flic that have something but not sure if that is Zigbee
And another was aero something cant remember
Flic looks pricey and also buying into another ecosystem that can be switched off
If you have zigbee then the sonoff buttons are really decent, I have a few about the place.

Some AE listings do bigger multipacks of them if you want a bunch.
I would go for something that is more generic and doesn't require some additional propitiatory hub which they can switch off whenever.
I guess for a wired single Button you could use one of the m5stack devices like THIS
Many thanks. I think the SONOFF one might do the trick. I am still new to the Home Automation eco system so got lots of learning to do and understanding
No Worries, Good luck with it.
Thank you
Sonoff SNZB-01M is also a good choice
