I got a notification earlier that 2026.4 is available. Currently running 25.12.4 - however when i press 'update' I see some progress then nothing happens. It reverts back to showing an update available again. I have ESPHome installed but I haven't taken control of the Voice PE. I've looked through the HA logs but I don't see anything related to the failing update. Any idea where those logs are ? Thanks.
#Voice PE not upgrading to 2026.4
1 messages ยท Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I just went to update My 2 VPE's running stock firmware.
One of them had the same issue.
I restarted the VPE that had the issue then when it came back up I forced a check for updates to get it to find the update again then was able to install the update without issue.
cool, thanks. I'll need to walk downstairs now ๐
you can restart from home assistant.
But walking to it and power cycling it does work too ๐
hmm.. it now thinks there isn't an update :
Failed to perform the action update/install. No update available for update.home_assistant_voice_09cc1b
after a restart you will have to force the check (or wait till it does one on its own)
how do you force the check ?
You can force all update entities to check by going to settings-system-updates then at the top right there is a button.
you can manually force it for a specific one too with an action call if you want in the dev tools. but its easier to just refresh everything. ๐
hmm. integrations -> ESPHome shows its running "Firmware: 26.4.0 (ESPHome 2026.3.2)" but it still thinks there's an update but then fails telling me there is no update.
Looks like it got the update then but is a bit confused, You can restart it again. This should reset the update entity.
I'll just leave it for now, at least its running the newest code now, thanks for your help
No worries, It will probably work itself out eventually tbh.
how do you restart it via HA ? out of interest
On its device page there is a restart button in the configuration section.
ah, it was disabled thats why I missed it
