Hi everyone
I’m looking for recommendations for smart locks that are 100% compatible with Home Assistant locally, without any proprietary hub.
My setup:
- SMLIGHT SLZB-07 dongle (Zigbee 3.0 + Thread/Matter)
- Using Zigbee2MQTT
Ideally I’m looking for:
- A native Zigbee lock (no Aqara-style hub requirement)
- Full support in Zigbee2MQTT (lock/unlock + state + battery + PIN codes if possible)
What I’ve looked at so far:
- Aqara U100 → seems to require a hub for proper integration
- Yale Assure Zigbee → seems OK but depends on the module
- Kwikset Zigbee → often recommended
Questions:
- What models are you using with Zigbee2MQTT?
- Do you get full control (reliable lock/unlock)?
- Any models to absolutely avoid?
- Anything else I should consider when choosing (door compatibility, etc.)?
- Should I consider Wifi devices instead of Zigbee ?
Thanks in advance for your feedback
