my wife asked me today if we have a blood pressure monitor, and I'm pretty sure we don't. Is there one I could get that integrates nicely (preferably not using "the cloud") with Home Assistant?
I did notice there's now an Omron integration ( at https://github.com/eigger/hass-omron ) so might just see if it works with this model https://www.amazon.ie/OMRON-Universal-Irregular-Heartbeat-Detection/dp/B0F9X3K58W/?th=1 out of the box but it's better to have more than just one option 😉

Whilst not an answer to your question. Just wanted to put in a warning because of the subject. Using home assistant for anything medical is not recommended where it is critical to life. It sounds like you are probably just using it to supplement other stuff which is fine. Just keep in mind that that it should be a supplement only.

I'd just be using it for logging data, so we can look at graphs and hopefully determine a pattern, rather than anything else.
also, if it means eigger can list another omron model that works with that integration then I guess that's a bonus too 🙂

A colleague of my wife is a medical doctor and suggested having her blood pressure tested. Being a developer/data-geek obsessed with HA I'm just taking it a level further 😂

I’d be weary of Bluetooth for this. If it’s anything like my Oral B toothbrush your neighbours will know your blood pressure as well, should they be interested.
If I was tasked with this I’d stick to a spreadsheet or dedicated software.

I think the info is only passed once devices are paired, and not emitted in the advert packets. If so it's not too insecure, relatively speaking.

No PIN is required with my toothbrush. And I’ve had my neighbours one pop up in HA and I suspect I could have paired with it if I wanted to.
