I've been running my home off a pi4 for the last 3 or 4 years. I'm starting to see some failures and think it's time to upgrade to stronger piece of hardware and wanted to see what most people recommend? I've been looking at MiniPC's and there are some good options.

Appreciate the help.

# bold prairie As always, depends. I'm not a fan of the pi but what are you hoping to achieve w...

Home assistant is the center point for my entire home automation platform. Any echo or Google home that I've got gets its devices from there. So it needs to be strong enough to handle all the automations in the house without overheating or dying. Since I'm not really sure what new stuff they're going to put on in the future, it needs to have enough CPU and memory that it can handle whatever is going to be thrown out in the near future.

The green should be supported for a while and your new PC is likely much faster. I'd look for a deal on eBay for a used Tiny PC as mentioned in the link.

In general I don't recommend them but you can link me one and I tell you more.
