This feels like a hacky workaround because the Todo platform doesn't support categories. Categories would be a feature that other integrations would benefit from, so I would prefer to implement it properly instead of having one integration repurpose the description field.

I think I agree with that it's hacky. Generally we follow RFC45545 (something like that), I am not sure if that has support for this

I think it does support categories? If RFC5545 is what you mean? I didn't look very deep though
