Recently when a number: (ESPHome) is set to mode: box, there's no Up & Down arrows shown in the HA Integration.
I'm not sure where to raise the "issue" - ESPHome App or ESPHome HA Integration itself.

There were recently some replacements of Material Design components with Web Awesome ones, see here. These are the components used by the frontend. Your problem is probably related to that replacements.
Quite some dashboard dev folks (including myself) came across similar issues: New elements like scrollbars or headlines or info texts appeared, other things disappeared that were there before, field sizes and colors changed, fields now seem to have minimum heights - all this breaking your nicely configured dashboard you put a lot of work into. Especially not nice if you made a pre-made example dashboard for an integration which is used by a 4-digit number of HA users (now asking YOU to repair what the update has broken).
But what makes me most worried is the following statement after the replacement:
It looks almost the same but the look may change in the future
In other words: More work incoming. Somebody seems really, really bored ...
p.s. / edit: To give some positive / helpful advice: Make the field wider, the arrows are problably there, just not shown, because the new components take more room ...
