I am looking for a vacuum/mop combo for downstairs and a vacuum only for upstairs. I see Valetudo but noticed they dont support a lot of brands/models. Is it still worth it to use Valetudo (would need to get PCB and other parts to flash) over integrations like Roborock/Dreame/Matter?

Valetudo is mostly only useful for older models or if you really want to get your robot out of the cloud. The newer models have home assistant support.

Right, I am looking to be (if possible) out of the cloud but want a newer model. I see Roborock is local polling but requires the app, which could be fine, depending on the price. The Dreame integration requires an account too but not sure on how the data is shared

Valetudo with Dreame supports last years model (x40 ultra). That's what I went with. It does vacuuming and mopping and it doesn't need a cloud. For me the lack of cloud was a personal requirement

What about Matter support? Would that be similar as it should be local only too?

#

Oh, I guess it'd be super generic support

Matter is available on some models I guess

But they so not support Valetudo

For roborocks at least, the Matter integration is very barebone compared to the Cloud one, so Valeduto might still have revelance if you need all the finetuned control it offers.
I have this one per instance https://ca.roborock.com/products/roborock-qrevo-curv-s5x
and Here's a comparaison: Matter
