Hello HA community!
Here comes a semi long post about a very small issue I'm having.
I am new to HA, so I was hoping to get some feedback or recommendations from experienced users regarding an issue/question I'm having with the Ikea Kajplats MoT bulb.

Background info:
I have been using the Ikea Traadfri bulbs + Ikea gateway in the past, and I was very satisfied with those products. So when I decided to start my new HA journey i few weeks ago, I bought a Kajplats bulb + Bilresa remote + Myggspray motion sensor to test and get some hands-on experience with HA.
So far my plan has been to start small and keep building/expanding my smart home as I got more experience, without having to deal with hardware bottlenecks and need to replace my host/server in the process.

My current setup is the 3 devices listed above, all running on a NucBox 3 pro with the zbt-2 connect as a Thread border router.
So far everything has been going smoothly and I've had no issues with the configuration of my setup, adding devices or anything related to HA itself.
But each time i turn on the Kajplats bulb, there is a small 1-2 seconds delay before it actually turns on.

Part 2:
I've tried a few different things, but the delay is very consistent no matter if I:

  • Control it without HA by connecting it directly to the Bilresa remote (with the wall switch allways turned on)
  • Use it as a normal bulb only using the wall switch to turn on/off, without connecting it to HA or the Bilresa remote.
  • Control it from HA, with and without the 2 other devices.

I found a small number of posts from different online forums with other people describing the same issue with the Kajplats bulbs. But nothing was leading me towards a fix, a workaround or even an explanation to help me understand why there is a switch delay on these new bulbs, when my old Traadfri bulbs turned on/off instantly. I have already made sure that there are no activated settings related to on/off transitions, so now I'm just left wondering if this is just a thing I have to live with, if I want to keep using Matter over Thread bulbs. Or maybe this is just a problem with the Ikea Kajplats, and there are other budget friendly brands out there without this issue?
