#Home assistant and Alexa

I don't use Alexa, but I absolutely have HA responding to a presence sensor to turn on kitchen lights when we walk in (only room we always want lights on bright every time we enter, and often are carrying food and can't hit the switch)
I assume you could have HA respond to sensor and send a message to Alexa, but I don't see any reason to involve other people's computers to do this 🙂
Interesting, I assume Alexa has to be connected first to HA in order to do this?
I would remove the lights from alexa, add them to home assistant and then expose them to alexa (unless you're using matter, then you can leave them connected to alexa). Exposing to alexa works via home assistant cloud, emulated_hue or home assistant matter hub
Would HA be able to detect those lights? I use an app called BRmesh when they don't work with Alexa usually.
That's the description I have from the lights
I just checked on Amazon and apparently they won't be able to connect to HA, I might be wrong
I don't know what br mesh is, you'd have to research if there is an integration that supports it

Looks tricky indeed
Do the lights work in alexa?
Using the alexa media player you're able to expose the devices connected to alexa to home assistant - I believe
Yes the lights do work with Alexa that's how I turn them on usually. By voice, I haven't tried with a motion sensor yet.
Is Alexa media player free or its something connected to the Nabu Casa?
AMP is free but not exactly known for it's stability
