I have my device added to home assistant. I am running matterjs and open thread border router on the same computer as home assistant. I share the device via my android phone and get a matter pairing qr code, scan that in apple home when adding a new device. It sits and thinks for a minute and then says failed to add device. I have included a screen shot showing home assistant showing both thread networks. Any idea what I am doing wrong here? The device im trying to share is the Aqara U400 door lock.
#Share from home assistant to apple home - matter over thread issue

All I can say is that I've had no problems really when I add it to HomeKit first, then HA. (Tapo TP-Link devices and Aquara U100)
That seems to be the way everyone does it, I am hoping I can get it working this way to avoid resetting it up. Not a huge deal but man matter/thread seems like a fragmented mess
Is it your plan to have two different Thread networks? Before you do anything else, you should consolidate your two Thread networks into one Thread network.
Ideally there would just be one network, the one I created with home assistant but it looks like apple doesn't allow that. I found instructions on using apples credentials for the otbr so I'll try that.
Do I want to use this option or leave as is?
got it! I did **not ** click the option in the last screen shot
