#Use a old Office PC as a homeserver

Yes, because of that, it's better to use something like a mini PC or similar, with less power consumption and fanless temperature control. In any case, you can use that pc to test Home Assistant 🙂
Depends on the specifc machine but sure. I wouldn't put it in my bedroom though. Even a fanless one.
Why?
Separation of concerns, bedroom is for sleeping. Lights. Etc.
Do you already have the PC? It kinda sounds like you do but also don't.
I do have the pc so it would be more convenient for me to use the hardware i have at home
But then wouldn't you know how loud it is when running? As for power you can measure that too. Do you know the model and components?
I mean it has the regular office pc noise but you could also change the mapping on the fan. And that was my question if you could turn it like all the way down and still have enough performance for h a
Depends how powerful it is. Just HA alone doesn't need a lot of power. At least not continuously.
Thats the specs
Should be fine. HDD will likely be the loudest and slowest thing.
Could I turn it all the way down?
The fan or the disk? I don't think HAOS supports AAM for the disk. The Fan I wouldn't worry about setting it to low.
The fans
That would be the loudest component ig
Sure. Glances can also show you the temperature.
