#BILRESA scroll wheel input delay

I got a BILRESA scroll wheel, connected to a gen4 Amazon echo and shared with home assistant. Any input takes at least 1, sometimes 2 seconds to propagate.

I've read that the scroll wheel uses an event type that home assistant doesn't currently support, but I am also experiencing delays with the button. So I'm wondering if part of the issue is my setup. The echo is 10-ish meters away from the device, separated by a wall. Would connectivity issues increase response time?

This remote is my guinea pig for Matter over Thread, I want to get an ikea air purifier but I wanted to test the thread performance of the echo first. Is this an issue with the remote only or would I be likely to experience similar issues with the STARKVIND?

So I don't have it... But, I saw a thing for the BILRESA the other day. It is one of the new devices that has a undocumented zigbee mode (not all of the new ikea devices have it but some do) then THIS blueprint gives most functionality. If you have a zigbee setup then this may be an option.

it connected via zigbee but no inputs are coming through (identify button works though). Probably because I'm on ZHA...
