I have a new Truenas system currently under developing process. I am wondering if I am able to use the TP-Link TX1U usb wifi card to passthrough to Home assistant OS on a VM, on Truenas. Also, I have been running on Home Assistant container, never on the OS version, so that might be a learning curve.

I haven't run VM's on TrueNAS but as long as you can passthrough a USB device then the VM should see it. However you should really use wired networking to connect your Home Assistant server to your network.

I tried to wire it with ethernet but the iot router (glinet opal) doesn't reach all across my house unless it is in the middle.
Also the tplink archer has drivers, would I be able to install it on Home assistant?

Why on earth would a router have drivers? In any case... No it is unlikely that you would be able to install them on HAOS.

Fair enough, Also if your going to use wifi then find something with an actual antenna ...:P
