Hello all,

We are in process of upgrading our old lightings with new recessed and ceiling lights.
I have installed HomeAssistant on my ProxMox and it has already detected my TV and speaker. Everything seems good so far.

Now I am looking for recommendations on what lights to buy. I am very new this smart home world and selecting for the right lights feels overwhelming. I was initially planning on most of the lights from Govee. But then I came across this article that does not have H601 series.

What brands of lights would you recommend, that is easy to integrate with HA? I need a few ceiling lights, handful of 4" and 6" recessed lights, a couple of wall mount and a couple of vanity lights for bathroom.

I have had good luck with ThirdReality br30 RGBs for the recessed cans in my bathroom... They also have standard bulbs and are a works with HA vendor

Excellent. I'll look into it.

Also just met with an electrician, and he wouldn't install anything that isn't CSA/cUL/cETL certified which Govee isn't.

Oh, the ones I have are ZigBee, not sure if they make a matter compatible version

Pretty much I would recommend smart switches over smart bulbs. Hue bulbs are some of the best bulbs if you really want to go that route (and work via zigbee). Lifx is a decent WiFi bulb option.
