New to HA | Home Assistant | Page 1

Hi everyone, really glad I found this group! I’m very new to Home Assistant, but decided to give it a go. I recently bought a DreamQuest N95, followed a few videos, installed Proxmox (seems highly recommended), and then set up Home Assistant. I also managed to get through the JW Solar series to start integrating my Solax PV system. Most of it went well, but I’ve hit a few issues. My Solax H1 only shows 2 of my 3 batteries, and I can’t seem to find a fix. The firmware was updated last week to the latest version, so I’m a bit stuck.
My setup includes:
Solax PV + batteries
Hypervolt EV charger
Octopus IOG
Ring cameras
Hive heating
Smart switches
And I still haven’t managed to get the car configured yet
A few questions if anyone can help:
Does anyone know how I can get Home Assistant to recognise my 3rd battery?
Are there any good templates or dashboards I can use to get started? Some of the ones posted here look amazing.
Do I need a subscription to use the HA app when I’m away from home?
Any tips on automations for this kind of setup? One I really want is automatic EV smart charging during my IOG off‑peak window — I currently trigger it manually, but I’m hoping once the charger is fully set up I can automate it.
