#Smart switch compatibility?

I have a light fixture/fan powered by a switch on my wall that contains no neutral wire (I have an older home). After looking online I found smart switches around $10-20 that work with Wi-Fi, but it is not clear if they cut the power remotely or send a signal to Home Assistant, which I would prefer so I can turn the lights off and keep my ceiling fan on. I would 100% want something smart so I can trigger smart RGB bulbs on and off while leaving my fan on 24/7. I still haven't bought light bulbs yet, so if it's not possible I won't sweat it. As for Zigbee or Matter, I only have a single Matter compatible device in my house that is currently using Wi-Fi anyway, so it is not a big concern for me.

@wraith flax Inovelli makes switches and fan/light controllers that allow for smart configuring of fan and lights separately with smart switches that can be set up to leave the fan/lights powered so the controller is what turns them on and off ("smart-bulb mode" is what they call it)
They have ZigBee and Matter/thread and z-wave versions of most devices
