I am looking for some kind of self sourced or a little older architecture hardware that can drive my tasks effectively

  1. Proxmox VE
  2. HAOS on VM
  3. Frigate on VM with 8+ hd cameras
  4. 10 + different LxC for different AI tasks
  5. Ollama with local large models

Hardware

  1. AMD or equivalent CPU
  2. DDR 4/5 Ram 64gb
  3. Motherboard with internal pci for GPU
  4. Nvidia or similar GPU
  5. Halio AI M.2
  6. 512 gb SSD plus SATA hdd for cold storage
I am not looking for Mini PC in the market, so any time i can upgrade individual hardware if needed without too much complications

Maybe a desktop Branded CPU like Dell/HP or individual hardware that i can assemble. I am from the hardware engineering background but due to profession, not upto date with hardware options available today

Can someone please recommend a good hardware list i can look for or a desktop models i can go with modifications? Just don’t want to break my bank 😊

Frigate on VM
Why not a CT?

AMD or equivalent CPU
Huh?

You kind of want to build your own custom PC for this if you want to keep upgrading it in the future. Unfortunately RAM is terribly expensive right now.

What do you mean by a "desktop Branded CPU like Dell/HP"? If you are talking about a complete computer you should realize that Dell/HP/Lenovo often use proprietary components that can make upgrading a challenge. If you are talking about the actual CPU, you are basically talking Intel or AMD unless you want to dive into RISC processors or ARM stuff.
