#Area card not showing temp/humid

Hi,

I have several rooms with air quality monitors. I use area tile cards to show their values in the dashboard.

This has always worked, until recently. I replaced the sensor (which I already had one in another room) in the sleeping room. CO2/PM2.5 gets shown again, but temp and humid don't although configured. The (new) sensor in question is also an IKEA alpstuga matter one. It should set the device/sensor class correctly and shows the unit at °C / % correctly. Also it has good connectivity and updates without issues, but the values still won't show in the area card.
I have no idea where to look or how to debug and I'd be glad for tipps or hints.

Greetings,
Marcus

You must select the sensor in the area's configuration page.

#

actually maybe that's not the right answer, I don't think the area card necessarily requires that

#

maybe it's getting confused if you have the old sensor selected there

I don't have any specific sensors set up. It should use all sensors in that area and average it (also true for power entities 😕 ) I did remove the old device/entities though.

Like I think it uses the specific sensor you set if you set it, but it uses average of all if you don't.

#

So to clarify you had an old sensor set there, and you now removed it? Is it working correctly after that?

The area-specific temperature is supposed to solve the "sensor in the freezer problem".
Like you put a temperature sensor in your freezer, your freezer is in the kitchen, and now your kitchen's "average temperature" is 5C or something ridiculous.
The specific temperature set for area is supposed to mitigate this, if you choose to use it.

Oooooooh! Excuse me. In the area configuration itself you can choose sensors. And apparently I did exactly that for the old sensor.

Removing it / setting the new one fixes it. Thank you.
