#How to add a new brand and device to the HA operating system

My company is developing their first BLE enabled device which is a shade controller. I have an R-Pi 4 stood up with HA OS running on it and I've connected the HA web UI to that device. I can see the R-Pi Bluetooth device and it shows up in the configured section of the web UI. I can put our controller in advertising mode and it shows up in the list of nearby devices that are advertising so I know al of the hardware/software is working to that point but HA does not list it as discovered. I'm assuming I need to do something on the HA side of things for it to recognize our device since it is brand new. Can someone point me to some documentation explaining how to add a brand new device to the HA ecosystem? Thanks in advance.
