#Looking for Speaker Amp Recommendation for ESP32 + 25W Speaker (Door Chime / TTS Project)

I’m looking for recommendations on a speaker amp that would pair well with an ESP32 (likely an ESP32-S3) to drive a 25W speaker.

Right now we have a Honeywell Lyric security system that we’ve kept mainly for the door open chimes. We don’t use monitoring, but the audible door alerts are important for us since our youngest is autistic and we rely on the chime to know if a door opens.

I’d like to replace the system with Aqara door sensors and use a centralized speaker for door chimes and possibly text-to-speech announcements. I don’t need microphones or voice assistant features. Just loud, reliable audio playback.

I already have multiple ESP32 boards available and a Dayton DMA80 8 Ohm speaker. I’m trying to find a good amplifier solution that:

Can interface cleanly with ESP32 (I2S preferred but open to other options)
Can safely and reliably drive a 25W speaker
Is reasonably efficient
Is simple to integrate (module or breakout preferred)

If anyone has specific amp boards that have worked well for similar projects, I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

I've only every used tiny ~3W boards with an ESP board - just asked a friend who has done something a bit chunkier - he said he used a TPA3110 amplifier module (30Wx2) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0FFF5ZY4K and then fed it with an i2s to analog module - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BNBS31PY

That's a neat little unit - there might be US distributors for pimoroni stuff? idk

You might want to consider the Sonocotta devices. They've been doing some cool stuff with ESP32 based audio devices for several years, & continuing to do newer ones. Devices like "Louder Esparagus".

Unfortunately shipping directly from Sonocotta in Poland is expensive, as is shipping thru Tindie. Fortunately, much of their stuff is available in US thru CrowdSupply. I've been seriously considering multiple units of the Louder Esparagus, but now might wait for the "Audio Brick".
