Reposting here because I used the wrong channel before.

Hi there 👋
I just bought a new home and I'm looking for a way to have an home assistant connected doorbell. I'm looking for a LAN only solution, so not relying on any external service. The ideal flow for me would be to have someone ringing at the door, this would trigger an HA notification, the device receiving the notification would be able to see the video feed, hear the sound from the door, and answer something like "OK, I'll be there in a minute". I have a pretty clear picture of the software part, but I'm struggling a lot with hardware, would you have any good references to share?

I use it with the frigate card and have two way audio and everything working [ EDITED ]

I use it with the frigate (now advanced camera card) and have two way audio and everything working - can completely disable the online services if you want from the Reolink UI / App

Are you looking for something wireless, or would you be able to provide PoE?

I had a look at Reolink hardware, and it seemed to me I wouldn't be able to avoid cloud storage/service

They support ONVIF and Micro SD recording

You definitely don't need cloud

so you could either use any ONVIF NVR, FTP NAS, or stick a micro SD card in it for video storage.

they also have the home hub which has excellent integration with HA

Supports 24/7 or scheduled recording also 🙂

I have one at a relative’s house with Micro SD storage that’s set to record continuously during night hours and only pre record during the day

Completely local home assistant integration that exposes things like package detection, quick reply voice responses, and person detection sensors also

Can you use a PoE injector for the doorbell?

Thanks for all those pieces of information. I'll start by providing network+poe where needed then I'll probably give a try to the Reolink POE doorbell then 🙂
