I want to connect a collection of IKEA smart home devices to HA. I have the following Z-stick pro that I thought was thread compatible but when I tried connecting it said I needed a thread border. So I specifically looked for a device that has that. I added it to my HA and still got the same issue. Here are the error message and both devices I am using to try to connect. Thanks!

What is it that leads you to believe Aeotec Z-Stick 10 Pro is Thread compatible?
For the Sonoff dongle, you need to flash the Thread RCP firmware, they have links here: https://sonoff.tech/products/sonoff-dongle-lite-mg21-zigbee-thread-usb-dongle-dongle-lmg21#shopify-section-template--19962290634993__images_with_text_scrolling_PtKFdQ
After you do that, you can install the HAOS "OpenThread Border Router" app following the instructions here: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/thread/#case-1-making-home-assistant-your-first-thread-network
Home Assistant

thank you so much for the help! Being new to HA and home automation in general is wild!
Ok, im getting stuck again and I'm sorry for being so new to all this. I found the way to get the Threat firmware flashed to the dongle, but now i get an error theat its the wronf firmware SPINEL, which may be a power thing i guess? so I'm going to try to get a new powersupply for the PI im running on and try again.
Spinel is correct for thread. Where are you getting a complaint?
It can't be used for both ZigBee and thread at the same time. If you added a ZigBee integration, you'll have to remove that.
Ok, im sorry that im needing so much help with this, with the dongle attached it auto detects the sonoff zigbee adapter but doesn't let me do anything Thread related. And the instructions for adding a thread adapter doesn't seem to work for non 1st party options.
Follow the steps at https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/thread/#adding-a-third-party-thread-adapter-to-home-assistant (that's part of the same documentation I previously linked) then go back to my original link and continue at step 2.
I think there was supposed to be a link in step 1 for you to follow, but it must have been broken in a page update.
