Hello everyone šŸ‘‹
I have been working for years on a blueprint to fully automate my gate, and I'm pleased to finally present the 2.0 version!

This blueprint works either with:

  • šŸš— A travel time sensor (Maps, Waze, ...)
  • šŸ›œ An iBeacon tracker
  • šŸ“ A GPS tracker

Also, this new release introduces behaviors for each situation.
Now, you can open/close:

  • 🧠 Automatically when needed (like before)
  • āœ…ļø By receiving an actionable notification
  • ā±ļø By receiving a cancelable timer

With this version, I wanted to really take into account every edge case, to be sure that the blueprint would stop/close the gate when something wrong would have happened.
Since my parents and I are users ourselves, I really wanted to make this work as safely and easily as possible.

I hope you will like it ! 🌟
By the way, if your gate cannot be controlled by Home Assistant, you should use my ESPHome Gate Firmware !

Awesome! I had given your first version an attempt a while back but inevitability gave up on it because it would stop tracking a minute after I left the house. I'll give this new version a try! Ty for the hard work, regardless

Um... I'm not sure I understand your message.
What stopped tracking you?
Your GPS, your travel time sensor, or the whole blueprint?

This was last year, so I don't remember exactly what the issue was. I just remember some notification from the automation saying the itinerary was cancelled shortly after leaving the house (or something along those lines).

But it doesn't matter now because I just gave v2 a try and it worked great. The debugging notifications are extremely helpful. There were some issues I had to fix and the notifications pointed me to the exact problem, making the changes a breeze.

Question - I have a vehicle in a garage and one outside of the garage. Would enabling these interfere with the automations for the in-garage car?

It's usually in the garage. If it's not, the garage is likely open
