Show us a screenshot of your Settings > Thread. Did you sync your Thread credentials, by pressing the button ‘Send credentials to Home Assistant‘?
Settings -> matter?
Oooh okay, added the thread integration now see this, no border routers
when using an apple device, it should automatically use the credentials for the apple tv's thread network from the apple ecosystem on an ios phone.
But why is the AppleTV gone?
So, you deleted your Thread integration? You need it, even though you don’t use an OTBR.
I didn’t have thread added,
I think my Apple TV actually does not have it, I need the WiFi + Ethernet version of Apple TV 4K 3rd gen
Ok, I misunderstood your iniial post completely. With ‘AppleTV is added to HA‘ you meant added via the AppleTV integration, right?
I thought your Thread network already worked and HA lost your AppleTV is a TBR.
Yes, you need an AppleTV 4k 2nd or 3rd Gen with 128GB or a HomePod Mini or a HomePod v2.
And kepstin already said it. If you have at least one of those devices, the Thread integration and that Apple TBR will be added automatically. But you need to sync your Thread credentials to HA via the Thread integration and you should make it your preferred Thread network via the Thread integration.
Which AppleTV do you have now?
Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) Wi-Fi
Chatted with apple support, they said this one does not support thread boarder router. I've been wanting to migrate to HomePods for easier voice control anyway, got one of those and it worked seamlessly!
