#Roller Shutter smart Switch

@steady sandal No typing in any other language than English; we cannot moderate different languages.
And as it is Tuya, no - it likely isn't good.
already explained that a month and a half ago 😉
Better to hire a person to push the button when you yell at them than use tuya
Why is that so bad?
It's not really that bad. Sometimes. It kind of almost works some of the time, but as a rule tuya devices are the dumbest smart devices you can get
Tuya WiFi = bad.
Tuya Zigbee = often lower quality, but still better than Tuya WiFi.
There might be some decent Tuya Zigbee devices, but it is more often a miss than a hit.
Yeah, their zigbee devices can work fine, but even then I've seen issues part to part
Some are spamming the Zigbee network to death, some are breaking early (or start to burn),...
Yes.
Is there a alternative?
Eltako Matter for example.
The ESB64NP-IPM should be the one for shades.
Those are Matter over WiFi though. The newest Shelly ones can be set to WiFi or Zigbee.
Aqara also seems to have a T2 shade module.
Sonoff MINI-ZBRBS for zigbee and the MINI-RBS for WiFi
Is the calibration only possible via app or knob on the ZBRBS?
The thing has a button on it you can use to calibrate
But I would like to start the calibration without having to disassemble it
Seems like you can trigger it over zigbee despite what they say on their site
https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/MINI-ZBRBS.html
Integrate your SONOFF MINI-ZBRBS via Zigbee2MQTT with whatever smart home infrastructure you are using without the vendor's bridge or gateway.
Where did you find that?
Can I use the shelly 2pm Gen 4 also for lights, and 2 different lights? Cause it says that it is a dual input channel switch
Can I also connect a motor and a light on one?
Is 1 ampere enough?
As far as I found out they do not have automated calibration
have shelly, go shelly again.
saving a few bucks on a buy is not always a good thing. Shelly's proven it's (build) quality and reliability. Other brands you would have to add an app or something to work, so there would be no profit at all.
yes, change from shutter mode to switching mode
dont connect heavy loads pulling
and more, no obstruction detection..
that would not be a problem
depends on what load you connect. do google the formulas to calculate power draw
Is sonoff that bad?
You found out wrong. That's literally the set of zigbee commands that can be sent to it.
But yeah just buy a shelly. They're rock solid if you have good WiFi
If you really want to use zigbee - then imo sonoff is one of the better ones you can get
If for some reason you don't like either of them, list out your actual requirements for the control rather than just coming up with new issues or asking for another option every time someone suggests something
I had to put the zigbee commander directly in front of the shellys to get them to join
I want to controll 3 shutters with around 100watts, 0.75ampere
Shelly 2PM Gen 4 can be set to Zigbee communication.
I know that. But they are expensive
OK, so what is your budget?
When using mains power, cheap may in some cases also mean dangerous.
20 euros for one I thought
And the shelly is about 35 iirc?
Sounds like a good deal
What's the ask in terms of features - both control, and usability?
And what loads are they expected to handle?
For me it just has to work as expected
Roller shutters with around 70 to 100watts
Must be around 1 ampere of usage
Or what do you mean by loads?
But also needs to be able to be calibrated without accessing the device?
What else?
has to work with zigbeetomqtt
and it should handle firmware updates via homeassistant
https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/supported-devices/#e=cover
Here you go then.
Zigbee to MQTT bridge, get rid of your proprietary Zigbee bridges
but there are aliexpress ones
It is a compatibility list, not a quality list.
Those are literally all the ones that work with z2m. It doesn't mean they're good.
But it's a starting point. Go through and find the ones that meet the rest of your needs
Integrate your SONOFF MINI-ZBRBS via Zigbee2MQTT with whatever smart home infrastructure you are using without the vendor's bridge or gateway.
Integrate your Shelly S4SW-002P16EU-COVER via Zigbee2MQTT with whatever smart home infrastructure you are using without the vendor's bridge or gateway.
These two
Which one better for ZigBee?
Sonoff or shelly?
Heading out 😉
yeah 😉 i gave all the advice i could give, no more to say or type
cause we're running in circles
Of the two I would trust sonoff more for zigbee. They have been doing it for much longer than shelly.
I would probably buy the shelly though as it's better overall
Maybe I will try the sonoff and see how god or bad they are
The profit would be it is cheaper
Just pick one. They will both work. Buying one of each to try will just be more expensive overall as you probably won't be able to return the one you don't want, even ignoring shipping costs.
sonoff is way cheaper
