struggling to get Wyoming to connect to my PC's mic and speakers | Home Assistant | Page 1

I have home assistant running on my "server" (old gaming laptop). it natively runs fedora server and all the HA stuff is in Docker (well, it's podman, but its docker-compatible). the laptop has a perfectly good set of speakers, and a usb webcam i am using for the mic, so i dont need any remote stuff
i have gotten all the other wyoming stuff working: piper, llama, wakeword, whisper, but i cant for the life of me get it to connect to the actual speakers

snd-external/mic-external just do not work, ive TRIED
i cannot for the life of me get LVA to work either, it really doesnt want to connect to pipewire no matter what i do, is it cause my containers are root?
and i havent yet tried sattelite cause it says its deprecated and replaced by LVA?

what is the best option ehre

Yeah, I was just about to suggest if there was a firewall issue blocking it connecting.
You should be leaning into using LVA in this kind of setup.

it wasnt working and i started assuming it was for remote sound stuff which this isnt

firewall is fine, its all running on on emahcine, it was fucking fedora selinux

you need to add it as a device in home assistant and assign a voice pipeline to it.
