I am running HA supervised on my Pi 5 which is no longer supported. Wondering if I should just install HA OS on it, or if getting a dedicated device from HA like a green. I do have a few custom integrations that I develop myself hence the old setup--not sure how easy that will be to set up on HA OS. Thanks in advance!

You likely chose supervised for the control, no? I'd recommend the docker install in this case.

I can't imagine HAOS making it easier unless you develop addons/apps.
Generally you have your bind mounted path for core's config directory you can work in and you can also enter the (namespace of the) container.
Also note that plain python core is only deprecated for end users as install method, not developers.
