Amazon devices aren't compatibles with Music Assistant. It is only compatible with DLNA or Google Cast devices. I don't understand why Amazon don't give DLNA functionality to it's speakers
You can use 3rd party integration Alexa Media. It will bring your Echo as media player to HA. But no music playback. You will be able to do announcements, pause/resume, some effects...
Because they you would just other services to play stuff instead of buying their services.
If you're using lineageOS + View Assist (since you said unlocked) I'd recommend looking at Mark Watt Tech Channel in YouTube, he has a quick set up for it.
Install sendspin droid apk on your echo device (https://github.com/chrisuthe/SendSpinDroid).
Then in MA discover your echo device as a sendspin provider player. You'll need to keep the sendspin app running in the background on your echo device but should otherwise work fine with View Assist in the foreground.
