#Upgrading hass core to 2026.02.02 broke all of my overviews and dashboards.

The suggested (required?) upgrade of Core from 2025.12.x to 2026.02.02 broke my default Overview page, replacing the hundreds of entities and dozens of sensors, rooms, etc. with 6 empty "postage stamps", which do nothing. All of the views of my data disappeared. The only way to get it all back, was to restore /var/lib/docker/ and /usr/share/hassio/ from my restic backup, overwriting the data on the server, and deleting any data not in the backup.

How can I retain my existing views, dashboards, overview pages, etc. and still upgrade to current?

So to clarify, you're looking for the old autogenerated overview dashboard? Not something you composed yourself?

Yes, looks like this. Unless there's a newer/better way to represent these entities in a visible way. This page has about 45 sections with entities in each section.

I think you can go to dashboards, add new, and select a "Overview (Legacy)" dashboard.

Let me try that, and if it fails, restore from back up... again.

OK, that sort of worked... and created a new sidebar item for it. But what do I do with this thing under the "normal" Overview menu item?

You may hide it if you don't want it.

How do I get rid of this empty 'Overview' sidebar entry that appeared after the upgrade?

I'm not familiar with what that is. Is it listed in your settings/dashboards table?

Found it... it was a static block of lovelace yaml in my configuration.yaml, but it only showed up in the sidebar after this upgrade to 2026.02.02
