ZBT2 - Device Needs Border Router to Connect | Home Assistant | Page 1

I purchased a new ZBT2 to start setting up some Matter devices (currently using Zigbee on a Conbee2). The device is being seen by HA, I am setting it up and flashing the Matter firmware, the OpenThread Border Router app is installed, the app is started and when i click the thread integration I see it selected as the border router.

Using the companaion app on my Android phone, I open Matter, see the Border Router, and click add device. The device is seen, and immediately goes into Connecting Device. It stays like that for 20 seconds, and it says Device Needs Border Router to Connect.

I can't for the life of me understand why I'm getting this error

A few things to check:

make sure to do step 3 of https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/thread/#to-make-home-assistant-your-first-thread-network
how is your home network/wifi set up? what network equipment are you using, are you using vlans?

Hey @royal helm ! I actually figured it out. I do have multiple VLANs and they are able to communicate, but I had connect my phone directly to the same VLAN my hass VM is on.
