Hey everyone! I have a Sonoff ZBDongle-E and everything in my flat runs on Zigbee. I’ve just bought two Thread (Matter) devices from IKEA.

I’m thinking about trying Sonoff’s MultiPAN 4.6 firmware, but I’m finding mixed opinions about it. Sonoff says their latest MultiPAN firmware works well, though. Has anyone here ever tried it? I’m not a big fan of running two different dongles if I can avoid it.

I would say that you should not use MultiPAN, yes Sonoff have had it working to a certain point in a lab environment. but it does cause various issues, specially in real world environments.
Something worth checking for the devices you got is that some of them seem to have an undocumented zigbee mode. Further reading: HERE.
I would suggest having a separate radio for thread if you need both. (NB: You should keep 2.4ghz radios at least 25cm (2 wavelengths at 2.4ghz) apart.)

thanks for the response, I will look into that - I was a bit afraid of it, I hated having multiple HUBs and now it's multiple dongles uff .. !

well I could indeed pair the remote control via Zigbee, which is awesome, although ZHA does not support it yet (and apparently the wheel might not be supported ever), for the Air Quality sensor instead it feels like it will have to be thread, I think I will just swallow the bitter pill and buy another dongle

will do so, so annoying though - I can already sense this will not even be the last dongle type over time ... thanks so much for your hints btw
