#Second HAOS instance, no Z-wave sidebar entry

I'm going in circles trying to figure out what I've done or why my two HAOS instances are different. In my "old" setup I have an entry in the left sidebar in home assistant that says "Z-Wave JS". In my Settings > Integrations I have "Z-Wave" (i.e., not Z-Wave JS)

In my new HAOS instance I just setup Z-wave following this guide: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zwave_js
After going through the setup I do not have the same "Z-Wave JS" sidebar, even though I apparently have the same Integration installed:

I'm also thoroughly confused by Z-Wave JS and Z-Wave JS UI - maybe I've install both? I can't tell.

Instructions on how to integrate Z-Wave with Home Assistant via Z-Wave JS.

"Old" HAOS does indeed have the JS UI installed

The sidebar is for the Z-Wave JS UI app (add-on)

Yeah, just found that. I'm confused by the z-wave components

The UI for the Z-Wave JS core app is.. Home Assistant (for now)

What's the current best practice? Use JS UI App or no?

It's your preference

But, it's possible they'll become the same in the near future

#

So you may just get UI for free one day

OK, thanks. I setup my other machine years ago and don't remember why I installed the JS UI app, but apparently I did. I'll read up on it and try to determine what value it provides

I imagine z-wave is still useable without it
