#Home dashboard replaces default dashboard

I have the same issue, I used to set my desktop dashboard to overview but my mobile with the same user to Mobile-Dashboard, now they sync per user rather that per device. Unless I missed something in the upgrade notes.
There have been changes recently where a default dashboard can be set per HA installation but each user can set a default dashboard which overrides the system dashboard.
I believe, without using separate userIDs per device a default dashboard based on device is not possible.
To modify a dashboard based on device I have used visibility rules and/or the Conditional card.
This should be changed asap... I have some family members set up to only be able to see a specific dashboard with a custom kiosk mode YAML setting, in short creating a crude "user permission" this way.
However now that the dashboard gets automatically set to the new Dashboard this means ALL members can escape this kiosk mode on their phones... this is not really acceptable tbh.
That said, setting a new Dashboard per user is very buggy. I have an Admin Dashboard for myself as the default on all my devices, but whenever I set this as the default it automatically throws me to the new "Overview" Dashboard upon refresh.
I'm really not happy with the new Overview anyways, it can't be edited whatsoever. If possible I'd immediately disable this again as I want fine control of how to handle my own dashboards, what entities people can and should be able to see...
And in general HA should be changed to have an option to override dashboards for users by an admin, so every dashboard on all devices gets set to a specific one once changed. This way such a behavior could be avoided in the future.
Settings | Dashboards - seems like you need to select the Default Board if the new system generated Overview board is showing, probably best set as the User one and then under your user Settings set your Admin board.
In User Settings unless you've modified the Dashboard option is "Auto (use system settings)"
It does appear that the system generated dashboards cannot be hidden, or restricted to Admin Users only - definitely can see why a concern to people.
That simply gets ignored sadly, it still throws the new Overview above the old Overview I've set up, despite the old being the standard still. Even user default dashboards get ignored and the new Overview being shown every time the site or app reloads.
If Settings | Dashboard you have set the default as required, check that affected User | Dashboard is set to "Auto (use systems settings)" and NOT "Overview" which I believe is the new default. If this doesn't resolve then sound like an issue with your installation / configuration.
It's a HA bug it seems, I have everything set up correctly.
Glad to see this isn't just me. It's unacceptable that I apparently can no longer set different default dashboard for my account on mobile vs desktop. They're two completely different screen types and I appreciated that HA previously respected and acknowledged that by supporting this.
So this seems to be a real issue then?
Changing per device default changing per profile default and even on the whole instance doesn’t change. It always starts with the « new overview »
I have the same problem. I can't figure out how to switch back to my old home dashboard. It is pissing me off and confusing my wife. I've been tearing my hair out for days trying to fix this. I guess I need to revert HA to my backup, because this is a dealbreaker.
The customised Home dashboard should show under Settings | Dashboards | User Created.
Within Settings | Dashboard you should be able to specify your "Set as default" your preferred Dashboard (via the Overflow menu.
This part may need to be done at user level & per user...
User Settings - find Dashboard and specify "Auto (use system settings) OR select the dashboard you wish the user to have as their default.
There must be something wrong with your config.
I have separate accounts for each device (desktop is admin rest are just regular users).
I have one “custom” dashboard set as default with multiple views (one for each device/user) and have no issues.
For mobile you can check settings and maybe delete the server and re-add; for desktop check bookmark url and make sure it points ro the correct one.
The new Home overview will get an option to edit visibility so admins can hide it from users and sidebar.
